Plenty of vag off the shelf options for fwd setup....certainty the 5 speed box a far easier item to package....then annoy @Mark_L to mount

I think my ECU can do boost by gear but need to sort a wheel speed sensor and pick up, not sure how effective it will be with just one wheel being read - hopefully the old school ECU is advanced enough to put together a decent boost by gear strategy

read from a rear wheel and it should work fine no issues when it comes to loss of traction then. Wheel speed vs rpm to know what gear its in

I think the 440 does boost by gear, youll need an MVSS on a driven wheel and SVSS on a non driven wheel

I do love my Adaptronics but now they are part of Haltech I am wondering if I should branch out to another type....something to research at a later date.

Bastard expensive the syvecs stuff and notoriously hard to map as well!

The Hal tech stuff seems ok to me?

Agreed tye adaptronic is old school but haltech have newer ECU in the range.

The ECUmaster are sometimes used on the lotus cars but seem slow to respond to problems such as wideband sensors issues

I’ve gone for the M2000 with DBW module, should be with me soon.

My 420d with Innovate SSi4 will be available if anyone is interested. The SSi4 allows for a few more pressure sensors to be added.

M2000 should go on your loom quite easy iirc. DBW is the way forward for better cold idle etc.

My current throttle cable set up is appalling !

There’s next to know modulation between idle and 4000rpm. This is with stock 172 cable and throttle body. This should eliminate those issues, hopefully I can use 182 pedal and throttle body.
