The ND0 (And PK6) box defo requires chassis notch to fit. Neal has done it in his beasty R19. Got some good clear pictures in his thread too of where he has cut, and how much.

How would the V6 Laguna subby work? Would it allow the engine and box to sit lower or something?

Something like that yes. But i am not going to look into this anymore. I might have found a solution that wont require cutting into the chassis leg.

Sorry I havent been here in a while.

Been busy with a bit of body work here and there and pulled out the subframe assembly yesterday to inspect and clean.
