Twingo Adey's Twingo GT (F4R+T 2.0ltr engine swap)

i think the decat has either shown a weakness in the turbo oil seals or they were already leaking a touch but being masked by the cat. if i let the car idle for long enough i start getting some blueish smoke. Boosts fine and goes very well still, no other issues other than that currently. Might have to work on gettin the bigger turbo on sooner than thought.

The twingo 2, as per the original car has very few gauges. Just a speedo, tacho and fuel gauge. I was toying with the idea of a gauge holder for a few more on the A pillar then i was reminded on a you tube vid of someone using torque app on a head unit. Dont have one of those but I did have an old tablet in a drawer. Now it's on my dash and gives me a few extra gauges to look at. Currently listing intake pressures, temp and water temp with a bigger rpm gauge to replicate the oem one its covering. So say you can build custom ones to suit different styles. Seems very quick and responsive and the app/tablet goes to sleep when the ignition is off.

I think there are some differences. front of the bulkhead looks to be clio, all the same mounts for the engine and box. wishbones and suspension along with brakes and stuff. same at the rear suspension and brakes are all interchangeable. From what i understand, though i could be wrong as most info about the twingo is written by young owners, is the middle floor pan is different. So say clio front seats dont fit for example. Im yet to check this myself as id love a set of 172 cup seats in it. Electrically its all the same though, all looks to be interchangeable, steering wheels, switches and other bits and bobs, as well as fuel pumps and housings, pipe routing and clips. Exhausts and everything look the same too, mounts for that are the same.

To be fair im surprised the seats dont fit (i will check) because to look at, its a Mk2 clio underneath.

fixed that typo for you...

Got a bit bored so painted the induction pipe black and gave it some fresh oil and filter. I'll pop the rocker cover off soon and give that a clean up and paint.

Not much gone on with this lately, got a wedding coming up soon so that's taking up time and the very little finds I have but I have managed to get the alignment sorted, raised the car a touch and the dialed it in at 1.5 degrees of neggy camber and 6min toe out. considering it was at 2.2 and over 1 degree of toe in it has made a massive difference. Also received a clio twisted powerflex dogbone. Took a punt based on them looking similar and as expected it bolted up fine bar having to switch to an m10 bolt instead of a m12. Added to my pikey upper engine mount stiffening it should hold everything in place nicely 😁

Have been doing some digging and research regarding 5th gear ratios. Ive seen quite a few people asking/wanting a longer 5th in the GT so its not screaming its little turbo off at motorway speeds. I found listed 2 different 5th gears available to drop in with part numbers and the ratios listed.

45/31 part numbers 8201499779 & 8201509387

47/31 part numbers 8201516100 & 8201499785

Stock has a 39/31 5th. There are plenty of others out there and can probably be pillaged from scrapyard box.

Difference in speeds listed in the pics
