133 has the looks but needed a turbo/bigger engine for sure.
@bloke turboed his lads one though and made decent power.
I did contemplate actually buying another 133 but with a wrecked engine and swapping in the 1149cc, sounds backwards but with relatively few mods the d4ft is making more hp and loads more torque than a 133 but would have the better chassis, seats and stereo to start with.
Sorry if I'm reviving or derailing a dead thread (not read to the end yet, spent the past 5 days reading bits at a time after coming across your youtube, so much to go through), but does anyone know anything about swapping a D4FT (1.2 Tce) into a Twingo RS? Straight fit?
I ask because my past 5 years of Twingo RS ownership have been a joy and I'd love for this to be my 'forever car'. It's gone from my daily to a weekend car already. I'm just about to rollover to 100k though the chassis still feels fresh as a daisy (undersealed it, replaced struts, brakes, tyres, belts etc when I got it at 80k). I am considering getting a backup engine before early 2010s stuff becomes hard to find. D4FT's seem to be plentiful and cheap compared to K4M RS's, and there seems to be no information on whether any old K4M 16v will do providing RS intake manifolds and cams are swapped over.
D4FT is tempting me for the price, availability, torque, remap gains, tuneability, economy and *allegedly* 40kg lighter
Either that or just keep on truckin with the current engine till it dies and get it resleeved with fresh pistons.
The Renault D4Ft 1.2-liter turbo engine or 1.2 TCe 100 was produced from 2007 to 2013 and was installed in the company's compact models such as Twingo, Clio, Modus and Wind. This power unit is essentially a turbocharged modification of the popular D4F engine. The TCe line includes engines: H4Bt...

The 1.6-liter 16-valve Renault K4M engine was first introduced at the 1998 salon and is still actively produced at a plant in Spain, Turkey, and since 2009 at AvtoVAZ. There is a version of such a motor with and without a phase regulator, as well as a sports version of the RS. The K-series include:
