Twingo Blue Twingo GT form Netherlands

This lurker want to say hi form the Netherlands. I own a blue Renault Twingo GT. Bought it in august 2019. Enjoying the car to this day. My gas mileage is 14 to 15 per liter (34 mpg) with tanking Euro 98.

I like the bright blue colour. Making also the Twingo spot easy on parking spots. The Twingo is small and compact but feels roomy inside. The engine is also great .The engine has a power reserve thanks the torque down low. Making driving just form a to be relaxed. But also want to go if you want. It’s fun to give full throttle and feeling the turbo working . Especially after the tune. Way to fun to trash around on small roads when you want.

The seating position could be better. The ride is on the hard side. Specially on speed bumps and potholes. I’m used to. Just need to take speed bumps more slowly. Above 100 km the road noisy is high due the short gearing. A longer fifth gear of an extra six gear would be nice. On the highway this can be more tiring.

A locale garage has replaced the tyres, brake disks, blocks and new shocks on all corners, Also repaired the right window mechanism. The mechanism broke few months after the sale. Not funny at all. Gave the Twingo new headlamps. The old ones where leaky. Made the nose also looking fresh. The timing belt change is also done. The standard maintain items every year. One thing I find strange is that the wipers blade go bad quickly. I have to replaced them every year. I find the Twingo not the cheapest to maintain due all the needs. Fortunately, this is the maintenance over the years. I hope the next years maintenance needs are lower.

The tyres are replaced in 2019 with Vredenstein Quatrac 5 all seasons. They are replace quickly after the purchase because the original tyre where too old for my taste. The Vredensteins are ok but they could be better. Grip in harsh conditions is good. And they do not wear out. They are also quite cheaper than A-brands tyres. But in dry conditions the Vredensteins are more comfortless and they make a lot of noise. Also steering fell is quite numb. But when I have to replace the tyres. I would choose for Goodyear or Michelin all seasons and paying the higher price. This because I find the Vredensteins too noisy.

The Twingo got a tune last year form 109 hp to 123 hp and 153 nm to 190 nm. The tune is done by Dekker Motorsport. A Dutch company that’s has a good name in tuning Renaults RS. They do good work. Twingo got more power in the in the mid revs. It feels like the turbo is less retained then before.

The shocks are replaced with Billstein B6 shocks. The cars feels more stable in longer sweeping corners after the car has settled. When taking corner fast the Twingo feels like it is on the edge of his grip level but keeps going. The ride is more harder. I find it acceptable. But be warned. Also swap the lights to Osram H4 Night Breakers for a better sight. They are a lot better than the standard lights.

Plans maybe give the Twingo a paint correction. Form a distance the car looks good. Up close you see a lot of battle scars. You can see the Twingo in real life at Losange Passion International
