Not really impacted by water/muck ingress with arch on and rubber strip seal, but will have a review with wing on and extra width of wheel placement 👍

I can convince myself both options are best atm lol 😅

Well between messing about with is it staying or going.......its all gone 😄

Few tacks and couple of runs and be solid until off car and weld the rest properly

Then took a decent cut out the arch just below inside lip on car ready to get the suspension on and check travel, steering lock and full droop etc. Once this is done can get playing with arch positioning and fit the missing metal

Yesterday's power hour 💪

Car was absolutely full of metal dust from cutting and grinding, about 100 snips of welding wire and general mess so got the hoover and brush for a quick once over......garage needs same treatment this week 🙄🤫

Got on with removing brace bars and checking wishbone full movement, then wheel back on and check / measure max droop before hub maxes out and wheel fouls inner arch.

Looking promising also with full lock both ways clearing also.

Damper measurement between pickup points is 28cm and 37.5cm (leaving a bit to not max out wishbone on hub)

Looks something like this

Iirc the wheel to damper travel ratio is 1.5 front mad 1.3 rear but this does not take into account the spring resistance. Will wind springs off amd check damper travel 👍

Fitted front suspension

Question for anyone with their Renault 5 in easy access.

What is the stock/lowered clearance on front subframe to floor as per measurement point above? Or further back if easier and np for me to measure again

In absence of the wider fronts I need to try and work out a way to take this into consideration 🤔

The current front wheel is a 5.5J x 17 ET26 with 175/55/17 tyres

New ones will be either 7.5x17 or 7.0x17 both ET20

205/45/17 or 215/45/17 tyres

Measures 120mm, thats straight part of sub to floor, but that's on 250mm free length springs iirc, they're short enough to put lower wishbones off level, which isn't great I reckon.
