Had free pass this week in the evenings but can't make it up and work woes meant worked very early and very late :(

Anyway just did a power hour odd....could have stayed longer but having Wed beer and wine night with wife as I have not really left my office all week

Few more pics and the r5/clio 16v jacking point needs a bit of work 😉

CAD time almost......it's GREAT 😀

I had the same issue with the front jacking points, I had to cut them back and re-weld them, to get them to sit properly - that could have been more to do with my dodgy repairs on the floor though......hmmm🤔

So with family visiting for the weekend only got a few hours on the car today.

More of the same getting sound deadening out, removing seam sealant, reviewing cut out area and reviewing plan of attack.

Worth while as found a few areas of rust forming under deadening so worth the pain to nip in the bud, along with few new found treats lol. Decided while solid the pitted inner steel on sill going also. Hope to finish cad tomorrow and cut out last ready for new bit....hydrate 80 it and get some primer on etc 😀

Another 2hrs just squeezed in :)

Some carboard thinking and cutting, tidy up of a few original cuts, started removing remaining spot welds to the floor ready for my 1st replacement section. Will do in 2 sections of the inner sill with the cut at rear seat frame which gives me a nice triangle of spot weld points to reuse

Time for a cold beer 🍺

Cant really see but the inner sill on closer inspection taken a slight push in at the bottom so some time getting sill straight and bit of hammer to get floor straight also. Much better before drilling last spots out and cutting

Oh I remember the fun times had, cutting and welding, spending evenings pulling wire brush spines out of my face and arms! 😍 Great progress mate

Power hr 💪 not much time but 60mims more than not doing 😉

Clamped top with some angle, final measurments and cut out last spot welds and buy buy rusty inner. Give spot welds a quick flap disc and overall think I have got a result in the floor and can salvage most of that.

Very quick few min test fit and other than a bit of hammer on floor lip and tiny trim its ready for clean, hydrate 80, red primer etc and stick it on

I’m pretty new on here and trying to catch up with all the recent threads. Looked like a proper nice motor when you sold it and really high spec for the time… it’s a shame what’s happened to it but that’s how it is sometimes 🤷🏼‍♂️ I appreciate the work your putting in though mate, looks like it’ll be better than before!! saving another 5 is well worth afew grey hairs 👍🏼🤣

Well time sure flies when having fun in the garage, managed to get an hr odd on Friday evening between dropping and collecting kids from cubs etc. Setup the welder and bit of pratice on the bench and weld through primered ready for the next stage. Was happy enough with welds and called time.
