Looking tidy , top stuff.
Has anyone done it?the tce swap would be my next choice for a campus turbo engine too![]()
I think i'd consider hauling the entire TCE setup into the 5. You could just strip away what you don't need. The only issue then would be making the instrument panel fit the binnacle. If you bring the whole setup and all it needs is power it wont care what chassis its in.Has anyone done it?
What are the real practicalities of it?
Physically it's fit, but what box/shaft combi?
I.E. use TCE box...mate to a GT box/shafts....TCE loom and ECU?
Speedo sensor? How would it mate to GT clocks, or even would it
Would a TCE ECU work de immobilised without a UCH? .....it's all stuff I'm not into
Basically I fancy a GTT/replica but with your 150 horse TCE lump, still be light, fairly quick with EFI without the standalone expense/ or faff / big power F4rt.....they're quite a heavy lump all told in a 5?
Get some support on the middle of that pipe mate, or it'll shake and vibrate and eventually stress fracture a fitting if you're unlucky.proper tidy kit and if I’d got the order right first time that pipe cost about £35 inc delivery and the adapters from feed and to turbo.
All depends on what I put it in......., It's track width, shaft lengths ETC.....Smashed Clio TCE would be pennies, but if it ended up custom shafts etc etc it's not worth the hassle/expense
For arguments sake, my aim is basically a 5 GT box and shafts with the TCE lump on with a stripped out TCE loom and doctered ECU?
Pie in the sky ATM, just opinions I'm fishing for.
What are the chances of plopping the whole lot inc shafts in and the track width being close enough to just pop the shafts in to the OE hubs?I’ve just re read this properly and yes that was my hope as well that the bell housing pattern was the same and really an engine mount would be the biggest issue. Stripped back as far as poss with regard to AC PAS etc and ecu to suit
I think the issues will be plentiful trying to get the whole shabang in, cos of differing eras of the two cars, I don’t know enough about Clio 3 or Twango, or have access to one for a looksee....if breakers were open I’d nose purely for interest, but my gut instinct would if bellhousing bolt spacing matched just to use engine etc on 5 box and shafts/hubs etc .....but then I know nowt as to what ECU needs to see beyond engine sensors?also the twingo gt box is a later design with a different driveshaft design
