Time has come, well nearly, test booked for this Tuesday 19th.
We'll run it round for a bit, make sure it's all as it should be when it passes.
This is a three door 1108cc ,4 speed , non sunroof Renault 5 Campus, built for my son's first car, hasn't turned a wheel since 225 took over, just had a recommissioning, both rear wheel cylinders, a N/S balljoints , set of wipers and a couple of front tyres.
Read my thread on this car to see what went into this car, but a brief summary...
All rot cut out, rear beam mounts rebuilt, inner sills repaired, new out sills, bumper mounts, floor sections, jacking points, no stone left unturned.
Mechanically standard apart from lowering springs and rear dropped a spline.
Clio 172 Cup front seats on 5 mounts/sliders
5 GTT steering wheel
Twingo MK2 steels in gloss black with .165/65/14 Contis
Car hasn't deteriorated since I first built it 5 years ago apart from the subframe needed a coat of paint on the underside due to surface rust, wishbones / have light corrosion showing after 5 years and a couple of salty winter use.
Two family owners from new, both sets of keys, original book pack and build sheet that was under the carpet.
148k on original engine, still goes pretty well, quiet healthy motor, but oil leaky, leaves a little present where you park it for a while .
New clutch, starter, alternator, driveshafts, calipers etc etc
Screen surround is perfect, I bonded a plate into the centre due to deep pitting, which is still perfect.
Things I fault it on......
Front grill has bubbled after I painted it over a few years, there was some horrible spray putty on it, I stripped it back to plastic and plastic primered it, but it's lifted, there's about 3/4 of a litre of solid two pack with the car.
I only painted the lower half of the car, the remainder is either original or done at some time, so varies in shade and quality, I repaired the lower edge of the bonnet and blew it in about two inches past the headlight edge and the match is noticeable. Also N/S rear window corner had a welded repair and this area shows as a shade mismatch, car is pushing 37 years old though.
Offered on here only ATM, need it gone due to lack of use, shame it sits, viewing encouraged, any questions, look the build thread up on here.
I'm not saying it's the best shell, but must be up there, opinions vary, hence I'm not giving it away.
£3500
View it, tell me I'm wrong, and why and I'll listen.
Rather not eBay it, but if that's what I have to do, so be it.
I'll answer any questions openly and honestly, Thanks.
