Renault 11 Turbo Phase 2 Restoration

The programmable aei was €400+ from memory. The price was a canny bit more than an aftermarket mappable ign setup.

Any idea what they have done to the AEI ? could it be reproduced ?

Removed the o.e Renix board, and fitted their equivalent of a MegaJolt/NoDiz pcb, made programmable via some homebrew software...which no-one has seen (even screen-shots), or at least not this side of the water.

It appears to be very similar to my old mate Philippe Quillon's programmable aei from about 12 years or so ago, but Xenon informed me that definitely isn't the case & that this is a new development... :yes3.gif:

Translated from this quick google search of THIS website posted by our very own @xenon :

goodnight all aces! already, thank you as nico for axecptation this CG!

So as a result of this purchase AEI, I told myself that this is THE product as currently have for its reliability GT / 9.11 TURBO and / or earn more perf while remaining reliable!
more with tof 08 we could do the test size by going to the Netherlands and toys and simply HALLUCINANT Shocked Exclamation top so I went rencarder and this is what we propose for this ONLINE/AM2B tio toys! (Above all the descriptive!)

The AEI programmable Plug and Play (Plug and Drive)This AEI mounts instead of the original! No change of beam or mounting is required.

It can:

-Set your advance map (to improve the performance of your engine)
-Set a switch (avoid over-revving!)
-Schedule a Overboost protection
-Improve boot up thanks to an advance in the development stage
-Improve the stability of the idle
- ...

The gain in torque and power is immediately compared to RE209, RE208 or RE037.Thanks to its modern technology, integrated in the original box, the AEI will restore your GT motor behavior in the style of the day! You can set your advance by connecting a laptop PC to your AIM and change in live all the parameters related to the AEI. The influence of advance is critical to the performance of your engine, you are finally able to adjust your ignition timing to suit your motor preparation.

Your GT hard to start? give him a hand by increasing the lead to start! Rattles the engine at high speed? calm ahead in this area, without losing elsewhere! You drive gasoline competition? Harness the potential of this fuel with advance it takes ... This is just a glimpse of what this can do AEI.

Optionally, we have integrated a pressure regulator with a sural solenoid plug into your wastegate hose. Target a pressure value, and Programmable AEI is responsible for managing your blood pressure in closed loop (AEI bed pressure and adjusts in real time using the valve).

We can also provide a sensor bar -1 +3 (-1 + 1.5 bar of origin) for GT turbo pressures sural important. The AEI will be able to adjust your lead up to 3 bar sural. What let them come

Finally, we propose an output option or Programmable Input to fly a Shift-Light, a relay to control an accessory according to your parameters ...

We ask for a box AEI in advance to order, with absolutely all connectors in 3 doses and with a functional reel. The state of the membrane is not important. The capsule and the case should not be broken (to get an AEI in perfect condition).

The AEI is provided with a map in advance equal to or request 209 with an improved motor for Original mapping. Cord + PC communication software are also included in delivery. (AEI return does not matter if it is or not a HS or other 208/209/membrane dice yet there are 3 taken as a 209 more I got rencarder and if peter and the nipple but not a flush with his pass membrane!)

price level and Co, is what gives her:
Without option 425 €
Option with control sural 510 €
Optional: -1 / +3 B: 25 €
So AEI full OPTION: € 560

Shipping € 12.90 (if some wishes, AEI and available at BOAR)

AEI bench set with statement before / after: 150 €
all payable in 3X without expenses!!
namely, that as soon as we take an option, it will tell me this for the AEI:
if you want an "input or output" option
these correspond function as this:
Input: information on the AEI (like a temperature probe) is sent and we can manage a parameter based on this info. (Increase of the advance pressure sural, switch offset, exit strategy, ...)
Output: an engine parameter (or system pressure) is used to drive an accessory type: Spraying water exchanger, Shift-Light ...

it little that I forget yoc, in this case, feel free to ask me as!
thank you you have to make a list as far as your desired AEI, and I will contact in the "wake"!
PS: be careful as you use your candle!!
renault the candle does not go very well with this camera that and AEI PRO!
I personally have taken NGK BR9EIX (TURBO PRESSURE IMPORTANT)
tof 08: BR8EIX (LOWER PRESSURE TURBO!)
further advance the son must be original and not reverse!

@Mart would be able to put a cheeky ignition map on there im sure ;)

I fancied one of these for the van to 'wake' it up a bit in the mid range. One day maybe.

And therein lies the problem - Is €560 + P&P good vfm on an unknown product? Perhaps it is, but that's not far off the cost of a stand-alone fully efi capable ecu, of which you could utilise just the ignition side of for now, until time/money/whatever dictates you want to add fuel control into the equation as well.

The NoDiz unit ticks the boxes, or at least appears to, but I don't recall reading about anyone having much luck with getting it running 100% on a C1J (I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong there though).

Aii Steve, I don't mind installing/mapping it for you.

When you can get an Adaptronic unit for almost the same money, or fully fitted AND mapped by EFI Parts for not much over a bag of sand, you'd have to be nuts especially seeing as the Adaptronic has squiilions more features and can be transferred to any other car at will.

Yeah, but you cant fit Adaptronic to a C1J without also fitting the rest of the EFI can you? I know it can help you with getting rid of the dizzy and you can get a coil pack etc, but is there some merit in the halfway house of the AEI being programmable?

You could run adaptronic ignition only. Or pmt megajolt ignition only at a 1/4 of the price. To be honest Steve you might aswell save your money - the ££ to gain ratio is low here ;)

I've got to say - @TNT Ross put the Mega Jolt on his and is one of the best mods to do for improved drive-ability and low down torque gains, not to mention better ignition control once you start upping the boost.

You might want to speak to Ross about that.

Had enough coupons in the sausage ration book today to have another day in the garage working on the 11 and had a productive day! :)

First I fitted the uprated R19 16v Hub & Brake assembly onto the offside:

Then I started work on fitting the new R19/Megane rear Engine Mount to allow me to fit the power steering rack. I took a picture of the Renault Part Number of the mount for you good people if any of you would need one of these mounts in the future for a retro-fit power steering project of your own:

The rubber engine mount can easily be obtained from motor factor's & e-bay, but I had to modify it slightly to allow it to fit onto the R11 Subframe by removing a small locating nub, and sawing a lump out of the rear bracket:

You see that the new engine mount gives adequate clearance for the power steering rack pipes:

The next job was to have a go at swapping the rear axle from the 11 Turbo item, to a R19 16v one I found for wider track. Thanks @Adeyspec for giving me the idea for this modification. I took a load of pictures to show the differences. You can see that the fixing bracket on the R19 16v Item does not have the bend in it like the 11 Turbo item:
i306.photobucket.com_albums_nn259_BigSteveT_Renault_2011_20Turbo_20Project_Picture3_2.webpi306.photobucket.com_albums_nn259_BigSteveT_Renault_2011_20Turbo_20Project_Picture4_1.webpi306.photobucket.com_albums_nn259_BigSteveT_Renault_2011_20Turbo_20Project_Picture2_2.webp
There is roughly 50mm wider track with the R19 16v axle:

I tried to take a couple of comparison shots of both axles on the car to show the difference, the R19 16v axle certainly makes the wheels fill the arches better.

Thank you for reading :)

Ah ok local ish ;-) has the phase 2 rear axle got 1 torsion bar or 2? the old phase 1 11 has 2 torsion bars. Take it mounting points and everything is the same just with calipers/discs instead of drums.
