[House build thread] Andy’s house ( not from scratch )

Speaking to a mate recently about collecting firewood. Next council District to me offers a scavenger license, so where the council is dropping trees or doing some clearing, they let you know. You can front up and take what you can get.

Ideal for filling a log store for the year coming, but fairly time consuming in the same breath.

It's getting in that year-cycle of drying it too, you need to think ahead at least 12 months!

Wow, massive difference, looks so much better!
Whole room is a million times lighter.

We were due to get the floors sanded and oiled tomorrow but the guy has got cold feet. Somewhat ironic as it’s under floor heated.

Am now the worlds leading authority on oiling manufactured flooring.

I have a few extractor fans around the house that have been vented in the shortest route from inside to outside via wall.

They work, but are open 24/7. One bathroom is cool due to no thermal barrier in the extractor —> external grille

I want something that’s sealed until activated. Can anyone recommend anything with a high CFM suitable for bathrooms / high humidity areas?

You could have a look at black hole vents @andybond, they are baffled and designed to reduce draft, noise etc while maintaining required flow. Some models have drip tray also if needed but also designed to have appliances feeding them to vent....can't confirm will be what you need but something to look at
