Twingo Adey's Twingo GT (F4R+T 2.0ltr engine swap)

Another good session on parts-bin raiding Adey mate... but won't make it go any faster 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
Depends on the definition of faster, in a straight line no I doubt it, on a track day I expect this to handle and stop better all round (y)

Ill save faster/more power for next year but I do think I may be at the limits of everything in there and don't want too push it too much further. Engine wise really id want rods and pistons in there for more power, plus I'm not sure how much more the gearbox will take so that really would require a 6 speed swap at the same time.

TWINGO 2 gt.webpfgfffff.webptiwngoo &.webp

small walk in france in provence mont ventoux, laughs anecdotes at the rendez vous, several nice mountains in my region, I was able to exploit a little the original twingo is after this walk I can tell you that I quickly order the combined ap racing ahah, to the program the twingo will receive these first real engine modification as adeyspec the so well explain injector clio 172cc petrol pump decata and big intercooler, currently I just remove the 2 rear seats rims OZ 15 p is put a ramair admission but its walk already quite a lot but my friend makes head when i go past them with my jar of yogurt!

Finishing up on the swap now and very little left to do. Some tires, sort the wheels with a quick rattle can touch up and get the alignment sorted. When I get that done I will take the measurements for the rear beam and have that properly shimmed up so everything is properly squared up and set nicely.

Big thanks to @YamYamRob who sorted me out with some OEM rs133 rear brake lines, these have the flexi section in to allow for movement in the calliper. I fitted them up this morning and gave the brakes a good bleed through with some fresh ATE type 200. That pretty much concludes this round of upgrades now, just need to put some miles on it all and check for faults or issues (y) I may even give it a clean :D

OEM design dept muppet 1: "How can we make brake lines even more difficult to replace?"
OEM design dept muppet 2: "Lets make the solid line and the flexi pipe one integrated peice"
OEM design dept muppet 1: "HAHAHA great idea, we're such assholes lol"

Another "make it look better" post, I replaced the B/Door pillar outer trims that had gone crusty. Well one had been replaced already but I removed all of it and fitted some new carbon look ones. TBH I think id rather pull the engine and box than have the job of removing the factory stuff again. What bollox that was. Any way got it all off and cleaned after about and hour and a half, then fitted the ebay supplied ones that seem nice and thick and good quality. Time will tell.

Whats next on the list? 250 turbo? 6 speed box? Engine in the boot for a real "Twingo"?

Not sure yet, I'd like to make use and enjoy the power I have before shooting for more. So new tyres and some better than oem brake pads, possibly pms topmounts and strut brace plus a harness and maybe a bucket seat. Then maybe the rs250 turbo sometime next year 🤷🏻‍♂️ I will be pushing things then though (rods pistons clutch and gearbox)

6 speed box should cope with the power.. time to start doing conversions for peeps at 3k a pop! Soon have a nice forged twiglet then!

indeed it would, requires chassis and subframe mods from what I can see and then custom driveshafts. Might as well forge it all whilst its all out. Boom another 3k gone lol

3k and some 🙈🙈
I'm very budget conscious, no labour in that guestimate.

Power wise, though as not much as some (looking at you lol), it is plenty in reality. Getting the chassis to make use of as much of it as possible will make it a much better car than it currently is/was
