Twingo Adey's Twingo GT (F4R+T 2.0ltr engine swap)

Need some of your energy man!
Got too much time on my hands at the moment unfortunately, would be nice if I had lots of spare funds to go with it but unfortunately I don't 😭 The odd hour here and there is keeping me occupied. Kids are back at school Monday so I may spend some time in the garage looking at the bigger turbo.

Big thanks to @Brigsy for pointing me in the right direction. I think I've found the info I need. Just popping it here for ref.

3FX Cruise Control on/off
3PD Speed Limiter on/off
86M Cruise Programming return signal
86G Cruise Programming Control

I need to double check the wiring to the brake and clutch switch and maybe get a new squib but with this i should be able to wire in cruise control and have it working off the Meg 3 RS steering wheel

Shouls be easy enough to wire in. Might need programming with clip if it wont fire up.
cheers again, been nearly 2 years wanting that info. From what ive read it works off the bat but wont show anything on a display without programming

Slowly working through some bits on the twingo, a cruise squib has been ordered but I've heard nothing else on that since ordering šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø On the engine side my old ramair filter was battered and bruised, so I decided to slap on the tried and tested (on hondas and vw 1.8t) s2000 cone filter. Fuck me it dwarfs the engine šŸ˜… good for a factory 240bhp so plenty big enough for the twingo 😁

surely the cost would be prohibitive with transport and there are people more local to you? and you don't really want the boost wound up and big filter fitted 😁 what work is it you want doing?

The Kangoo, it needs tinkering...

Things like different steering wheel, changing suspension etc...

I wouldn't care about cost of transport... Just looking to take it somewhere, leave it with you to make things work and job done..

So if the dopes engine build/gearbox swap was Project Lockdown 1, that would make this silly idea the Project Lockdown 3??

Take one perfectly fine and useable twingo and make it unusable.

Buy an unseen but so say good condition and near complete F4R784 which is a Laguna GT205 engine and then try and figure out the cheapest and easiest way to make it fit. Most of it I think I have sorted/planned now. Not looking for mega power, a nice useable 225 to 250bhp would be nice to try and keep the pikey build from exploding. The light chassis should make it quite fun to use. The engine spins by hand so ill give it a cursory look over, but should be fine for the twingo and being from a laguna im going with its not been beat on as if it was in a meg (y)

Next up will be stripping it back and putting anything i don't need on ebay to offset the cost and then raiding the Renault parts bin for parts to make it work in the twingo (y) This will be a budget/pikey build as mine always are :D

EDIT after lots of searching there does seem to be some variances in camshaft and pistons between all the megane's and laguna's. Even with different pistons the comp ratio seems to look the same. From comparing the 225 and r26 have different exh cams. The laguna seems to have the r26 versions based on the chassis code of the car it came from. Either way im pretty sure that bar mapping the engine and internals are capable of the same.

And once you've got this sorted, you can put the Twingo lump in the Dope. I like it, a plan with no drawbacks, and no ugly left over bits! Interesting that the limiting factor is the Exhaust cam. Obviously there will be some ECU differences , is this sort of thing re-writeable or does it need something changed or some kinda add-on. Excuse my last century lack of understanding of this aspect.

chances are i wont be using the stock ecu but yes they can be rewritten and mapped very well and accommodate a lot of modifications too.

ha not sure my dauphine would take it very well, yours might though.........
