Twingo Adey's Twingo GT (F4R+T 2.0ltr engine swap)

Ill keep an eye on it, ill chuck a wideband on. It will be back for mapping at somepoint once the turbo is swapped in or a hybrid fitted. If its leaning out and stuff i can whip it back off. Saving grace is the engines are peanuts, like an 8th of the price ive seen some meg ones up for.

Do you know if the stock internals on the D4fT are forged at all? I know you can get off the shelf forged rods from catcams.

You should be able to richen the fueling slightly if you check the wideband and then bump the fuel pressure slightly (so it will be injecting slightly more fuel than its been mapped for).

doubt they are forged, never seen a renault that is but they are different to the non turbo d4f.

yep but bumping pressure is truly pikey lol, ive done it in the past but no need to do so on this as i can just cruise about so its not an issue then get it remapped, plus i cba with swapping out my fpr

What was supposed to be a quick job got a little longer and pikey when i got passed the point of no return and couldnt find half the stuff i thought i had. Any way battery relocated to the spare wheel well to make loads of space up front for a different style air filter setup. Loads of space cleared but a few little bits and bobs to finish up with. Plan is to get a hose joiner from forge and then run the filter directly off the turbo housing. Need to sort the brake reservoir out with some longer hose so i can mount it on the turret but for now i lobbed off a bit of the exiting battery enclosure to hold it where it was originally.

don't tell the internet you've got a filter directly on the housing when it's at the back of the engine, seriously 99.9% of people don't understand that air actually moves quite quickly and will say about everything running hot, costing loads of power and melting...along with their tiny brains!!

i plan to have the filter near the front, same as you would on a 182, the internet is a strange place though and most with these cars are quite young and havent grasped the basics yet

Its quiet at work today, so i am at home tinkering on the twingo. The silicone elbow is here to thrown that on to make use of the space where the filter was and declutter the bay a little. My camera and phone are battered so pics arent to good. Straighter run to the tiny tiny turbo now rather than a full 180degree turn. Need to sort a catch tank/bottle next.

Crank case to inlet and evap pipework all removed and pipe added for rocker cover breather. Ive got a catch can somewhere in my stash so will dig it out at somepoint or add it back to the inlet. Not sure what to do yet.

More messed with. But deleting oil vapour from the inlet tract has been done for donkeys, less crap in there and cleaner air. Noticeable? probably not. All the oem pipes ive removed are prone to splitting though.

as in a positive crank case valve? not that ive found. only had an arrangement in the oem pipework to stop boost blowing from the mani into it that would then open on vac, about 3 one way valves in total, same thing i guess? thats all gone now so basic open breather off the rocker.

Exactly. Last thing ( almost ) that you want is oil vapour in the inlet tract.
