5 GT Turbo Abandoned in 2003, going for a big save/restoration

I still have lots of small little things to do 😂

Did a lovely 25 miles in it this weekend. Its bliss, like brand new! Let's hope it stays that way. I'm not sure the best way of preserving it is yet.

Maybe lanoguard all the suspension bits underneath. I have cleaned the alloys 3 times in those 25 miles 😳 😂

I still need to:
Buy bonnet sound deadening
Battery cover
Fit new front outter window seals
Buy seat covers and retrim
Adjust front bumper fitment
Repair the Interior quarter trim
Flat and polish the roof

Plus, the oil pressure gauge connection at the dial is crap. It is temperamental, even though its a new board, gauge, sensor and loom.

Soon as I pop the clocks out, give it a wiggle, it works for a time. I guess there was always going to be one quirk, I've had it pretty easy.

But boy, it's absolutely great to drive!

Not touched the car for a month all two while I dealt with some shit "life admin".

Started it yesterday, noticed the fuel gauge bouncing around, so lifted the rear bench and slapped the sender. BAM, gauge died 😂

I noticed the filter had dropped off the bottom of the sender, so got one out my stock and we are back all as good as new. DSC_1561.webpDSC_1562.webpDSC_1563.webp

Had some time out from the cars. Split with my partner after 10 years, bought her out the house and back to being a full time dad of my boy (as well as full time working).

Been a shite year, but hopefully I'll use the phase 2 a bit next year and make a start of finishing the phase 1.

I'm lucky to have a decent storage space free of charge!
