5 GT Turbo Abandoned in 2003, going for a big save/restoration

First problem 😂
I was working on the car today on the ramp, trying to get a better connection for the speedo and the car just cut out at idle. Strange I thought, no warning.

It starts up with revs, but refuses to idle smooth or at all. I took out what I believe to be the idle jet, large brass screw water pump side. Blew it out with my lungs as nothing else to hand. Stuck it back in and still the same.

I guess it needs a better clean? Any tips? Looks like you can take it apart. I'll take brake cleaner and blow it out tomorrow.

Could it be anything else? Really strange. Been idling perfect for a year now 😂

I think the mixture screw is siliconed in place Mr @sparkie rebuilt it for me.

I will look at taking the idle jet apart I guess. We'll annoying, wanted to mot it monday

Sorted, swapped the idle jet for a new one. Will clean the old one out and and see if it's buggered. It was new as well!

With that, the choke cable clipped pinged off and I can't find it. Will have to delve into my nos bits

I guess using silicone on the mixture screw to help hold it in on boost is ok, but don't you need to get it hot and set the idle mixture for a nice sweet idle then glue it up

Fit the new choke clip and new spare wheel bracket. Not sure I'll put the new spare I have underneath yet, doesn't make much sense while I run 15's.

I never, ever thought I'd see the day. 8 long year's and we're here.
So happy, I've had a shite year this year and needed a bit of something to make me smile

Buzzing. Not quite the end of the thread as there are a few very small jobs that need doing.

But thanks for sticking with me 🙏🏻
