So as the house restoration is about finished short of maybe a weeks effort. I moved car stuff around even got half a day on it BH Monday...

At the shame on my progress against the epic work and progress by @DaveL485 & @Chris74# and even my 7 year old son giving me a friendly nudge on how long it has been decided to find an hr a night

@Duncan Grier ........... I love this.....all the pictures are very similar to pictures I have posted over the past 6 months, even down to the door pin!! :)

Ok so as another year has somehow flown by and thought I best update to reassure this is very much still happening and with other residual projects helping friends (gold gti engine rebuild and crap grass track micra engine rebuilt and stick back together with the power of a mig) and evicting from my garage have only 5's in the garage now 😀...and ikle race car in a few weeks

Few minor house DIY jobs.....6 skips of concrete and brick with demolition of large outhouse, converted into allotment and all that good stuff

Converted other outside garage into my office for work......much needed!

Reworked old main garage into games room, pool table etc etc

Finsihed house renovation snag lists

Then a labour of love with the car garage full rewire and upgrades.....100m of socket wiring, 50m of lighting circuit, 16amp run of sockets, 12 twin sockets and new 6 twin bad boys led lights

Between 3 young kids and full time job if it was not for regular flow of beer would be super fit and much thinner lol

Anyway spam of random pics in no particular order of above and guess still progress lol

Today was heater matix out and started getting last of wiring removed...and got jacking point spot welds ready to drill and general ready to get back on it

Thanks to big steve for subframe and few cheeky bits out his stash 😉

Pretty sure that blue thing last saw the road when I owned it, maybe 2012-ish I MOT'd it? Think you'll ever get it done mate? :D

Yep, very much aligned with @Mark_L with sharing my original chassis setup/plan and duplicating build with his rwd 5 and super fabrication skills. Just awaiting confirmation on financials to trigger my end. Mark going different power plant setup but will be same spaceframe, wishbone, hub setup etc

Complete rear needs cutting out as 5 pot and dsg does not fit between orignal turrets made etc so full cage, space frame needed then get into mounting stuff

Ok so got a solid 3 odd hrs on the 5 today and while the plan was to start on the inner sill repair.....

I accepted that I really needed to get the last of the sound deadening and all wiring out before getting heat, sparks and glowing welds on the go.

What a pita with many pikey holes made and random woring spliced into here there and everywhere and dont get me started on the clifford 650. Worked out a certain plug was missing which caused a pause to getting loom pulled through front legs. Thanks to @Chris74# for pinging pics over of his that enebled me to open the loom heart only to find a dogs dinner so glad thats found. Also got pedals, inner rack, servo and heater matrix out also. Short of quick tidy it's wire wheel of doom and on with inner sill next.

Pics to see the good bad and ugly

Yep have to say much prefer building something from a solid base and the whole hard core rust renovation thing new to me and just sticking to basics.

Keep things clear, pick one job at a time and dont think of the complete job as its depressing 😀 no doubt some bits will go well, others a pita and need many step away and come back another day.

Just going to try and enjoy the process and good learning on the way 👍

Had free pass this week in the evenings but can't make it up and work woes meant worked very early and very late :(

Anyway just did a power hour odd....could have stayed longer but having Wed beer and wine night with wife as I have not really left my office all week

Few more pics and the r5/clio 16v jacking point needs a bit of work 😉

CAD time almost......it's GREAT 😀

Yep officially already hate rust restoration lol 😆

I know the answer....well the one in my head but....remove all seam sealant, underbody love coating or not?
