5 GT Turbo V8 Renault 5 GT Turbo, 4.2L V8 with 6 speed gearbox

Great stuff,

Answers my question on what other options I could go with on my rwd 5, has 20vt lump in the back atm

I was offered a v10 rs6 lump recently but was not an option

Is that the 360bhp spec vag v8? Also out of interest which box did you use?

I was looking at using the A6 fwd box mated to the 3.0 tfsi s/c v6 into the vx220. Looks lime it may fit into the 5 after seeing those pics

Keep the updates coming, will sound epic!

Holy crap. That looks interesting (to say the least)

Got any historical pics? Not many twin engine cars about, was this the orange Europarts one?

Hi DG,
I would go for a jag supercharged V8 engine, plenty around and cheap.
My engine should have about 300 to 340 HP and that is more than enough for a road car.
If I have managed to fit the V8 in I'm sure you wouldn't have any problem fitting a V6 with an A6 box. It will definitely be interesting.

Hi Dave,

Thanks. It's not the orange Twinengine. As far as I know there was only two twin engines on the road. This was on the road for a long time and j used it almost as my daily driver.

Hi Ash

That engine has been done with a company mny years bk. Looks a bit strange and requires extended subframe

I cant do body work and tight so leaving the external body suits me lol

We had a jag engine on an engine stand and it's not much bigger than what I have in mine. If you position it like mine, I'm pretty sure it will fit in R5 without the need to do any body mods. Mine will have stock external.

Brilliant, thanks! What drove the choice to change from twin engine to rear mounted V8?
Ash won't mine me telling you as his a good mate of mine and i used to work on that 5 when its was a twin engine, ash sold the car about 5 years ago and got an offer to buy the car back last year from the original buy minus the two engines so he jumped at it as that shell it mint with only 38000miles on that shell and his always wanted a mid mounted gt turbo:declare.gif:

This is a beast, a huge V8 pounding away right behind your head awesome :ar:

Ohhhh I just had a thought....... ITB's :aq:

Have a good lads of the underneath structure of this car its got cross beams with new chassis going from the front and rear subframe
Awesome ash well done :bd::bd:
