How does it drive? I'm assuming insane fast...?

It drives fine, it has only been on the road few times. It handles well, got lots of torque and stayed cool. I can't ask for more from freshly built car.
I have to behave myself as I need to run the clutch and flywheel in.

Looking at a tfsi v8 twin turbo lump at friends unit been broken and tempted to buy the engine bits........

R5 rwd or vx220

The turbos are in the V so very compact for what it is

420bhp std but cheeky boost with some forward an easy mod. Also strangle non canbus so even better

Everytime I look at yours I think do it do it do it

Def take it easy and find nice non road open space to test how it reacts under angry foot

Not that you really need more power

Turbos are tempting and I had to restrain my self from turboing the car when it was being built. I don't think I will need more power on a road car but I think I will miss the boost ... You never know, It might be booted next year.

Get the car reliable and balanced 1st how you like it.....more power easy to add later if needed

I know what you mean and almost wrong not to have a boosted 5 even if the extra power I not needed........

Yes, I will be going to Franch Car Show tomorrow. It doesn't seem like many R5s attending.

I'm sure it's going to get some sort of boost soon. The supercharger options is far too expensive. I might try go modify a jag Or a mustang supercharger to fit. Turbos are much easier to fit and my preferred option.

I attended the FCS and I have to say it was quite good. It was good to be out and about with the car. Lucky R5 did very well, all the way to Castle Combe from London and back without any issues. Not bad for the first long drive.

I goes pretty well, it's very different. It's odd having no turbos, but it's lovely to have so much torque in such a light car. Of course I always stay within speed limits

You should bring it to retro rides in August too. Give it a run up the hill
