21 Turbo The Scrapyard Quadra

Great work mate ,your welding is really getting top notch , going from car thin shit to a nice clean bit of box section and crank the welder up a bit is almost a pleasure.

Now the floor is back in the cage work has started in earnest.

The main hoop is set back a bit from the B-Pillars to give me seat room, as I am pretty tall and I sit further back than normal human beings.

One option for the door bar - as much as the big X is aesthetically pleasing, I dont want climbing in and out to be a total mission especially sitting so far back. Plus, I plan for this thing to be with me in to my pensionable years so easy ingress and egress in the future is also part of the thinking.

It's like watching an artist paint a masterpiece, as it comes together :)

Totally rocking it.

He let me do the rear turret brace, I tried to hold the side up with my comparably amateur skills lol

As it sits now waiting for one more door bar and the gussets, a lot of thought was put in around the door bar design with where I sit, and the fact that I might be getting in and out of this thing when i'm 60+. And check out that X-brace at the back. I award one hundred and eleventy billion cool points.

I know Mark is itching to weld them up, but they are staying for now. Only way i'll be able to carry a set of wheels in the car with all the scaffold, 2 in the boot and 2 on the rear bench (think trackdays).
@Mark_L weld them up, please. You will be doing @DaveL485 a favour. He will find some other way of getting tyres there. Or just buy some decent rubber first ..

Guess the question is in reality would you trailer it to track days? If so maybe not so much of an issue but get the convience of retaining working doors.

With the new fancy cage would welding the doors add much real benefit from strength or option to lose some weight?
