:ireful2.gif::ireful2.gif::ireful2.gif: Un-be-fu*king-lievable :ireful2.gif::ireful2.gif::ireful2.gif: Enviro-strip have let me down again!!! :negative.gif: Car is done, but the doors, and wings haven't been stripped yet so I can't pick it up tomorrow as planned. :punish.gif:Had to cancel the welder and trailer rental once more.... :ireful2.gif: Problem is I'm not going to be able to pick it up again until the middle of November due to other commitments.....

Oh damnn. nothing worse than being let down. cant you pick up as planned and get the doors and wings done else where or pick those up at a later date ?

Yeah I thought about that, but I don't want to go through the faff of having to treck back to Tamworth to pick up the stuff and then back to the Welders. Want to get it just all sorted in one fell swoop.

Poor effort, i'd be demanding a bit of a discount compensation for being effed about! Their FB feed has been busy enough so it looks like the poor 11 has just been skipped over :(

Any phone calls from them to keep you up to speed???

I suspect not,

Take a deep breath, count to a hundred and fucking ffteen and take it on the mahoosive chin big man.

It will be worth it in the end bud. :i-m_so_happy.gif:. There will be no charge for the cancelling of the trailer. This time:D

Looks like we finally have some movement from Enviro-Strip! :clapping.gif:I've been in touch with them and they have confirmed that the shell is ready and will be available to be picked up on Saturday! :dance.gif: I've checked their Facebook page, and sure enough some pictures of the car have been uploaded showing it halfway through the stripping process:

Looks like they're doing a grand job and it looks like I imagined it would. Can't wait to see it in the flesh on Saturday morning. The plan is with the help of @Nick Kettle is to get the loan of a trailer in Leicester and transport the Body Shell to a friendly welder he knows, so hopefully he can fill in any gaps as required. I would then plan on transporting the shell straight from the Welder back to Peterborough and to the bodyshop for painting.

I'll update you all this weekend after I've collected the shell from Enviro-Strip with pictures so you can see the final result, and let you know if I'm pleased with the results.... o_O

Thanks for reading :)

Back home now after collecting the Renault 11 from the Sheep Dip today, and in one word.... CHUFFED! :friends.gif:Yes the communication from the team at Enviro-Strip could be improved on, but the work they have done is just first class!! The car looks absolutely great, almost brand new!! The operator (Paul) who had actually worked on my car was there and offered his assistance in re-assembling the car. He commented that the car was a pleasure to work on as it was "really solid" compared to some of the cars he's worked on recently, which was nice to hear!!

Was up early at 6:00 to pick up @Nick Kettle then over to the trailer hire place. After a cheeky McDonalds Sausage & Egg Muffin ;) we got to Enviro-Strip in Tamworth. The body shell was complete and standing on one of their dollies, and the rest of the parts I had treated, were neatly piled nearby:

I had a good look round the body and was amazed at how clean everything looked!

I took a few photos to show you all some before and afters. You can see the seam sealer was hiding a grotty little hole in the O/S Inner Wing in-front of the suspension tower.

I knew the O/S front sill was knackered...

...but didn't know the inside was just as weak:

There was also the start of a little hole on the N/S Inner wing that I hadn't seen before:

To transport the car I brought all of the axles etc to re-fit back on, so Nick and I made a start at the front with the subframe, wishbones, suspension then wheels:

Nick brought his cordless impact gun with him, which was a real help when it came to tightening up all of the fastenings in record time. I know what I'm going to put on my Christmas Card list this year now..

The rear axle went on really easily also, but the wheel bolts were a bit of a faff as the axle was badly rusted as it came off the Red 11 Turbo I'd stripped some years ago that had sat outside in Scotland for many years.. unfortunately we didn't have any WD40 to hand, but did find some Mr Sheen multipurpose cleaner lying around and it did the job perfectly!! :boast.gif: Before we knew it we had the car back on 4 wheels and on the trailer:

Once everything was strapped up and ready to go we then headed to Nick's tame welding chappy in Leicester and dropped the body shell off. He gave it a good look round and circled all the parts we discussed I wanted doing:

You can see a dent on the N/S quarter panel in this photo that was full of filler before the body got stripped:

This guy's a proper old fashioned welding artist and been doing it for years so I'm sure he will do a smashing job with it. :friends.gif:He's going to have the car for a couple of weeks.

Thanks for all the "likes" and nice comments you leave guys, it helps keep the motivation flowing!! :)
