I understnad 1.7s a renowned for it. Back in the day, renault made a modification which ran an extra hose from the main fan, to under the carb. It included a temperature sensor which would start the fan. My plan is to do similar, but using a small marine inline fan, running constantly when the engine is on.oosh thats quite a bow, ill check minethanks for the pics
each!

Get some phenolic material to help isolate the heat from the gasket base. Made a big difference.Carb is back in and....
She run
Strange thing .... the choke seems to work better ... it was always a little weird with the choke, as though, on a cold start, it would run better without the choke engaged. Ive only started he once, but the choke seemed "normal".
I ended up making my own gaskets (to see if i could really!) ... i cant believe there are 4 between the base of the carb and the manifold! When i put it together, I added a slithering of heat-proof gasket sealant on each side.
Hopefully all is good, next task is to rig up a fan to blow air over it.
Well, there already is 2!!Get some phenolic material to help isolate the heat from the gasket base. Made a big difference.
Well, i hope the seal between the sunroot and the roof is ok, as plenty of seam sealer was used...as for the glass to the rubber, who knows!!!!Much better. Does it seal still or is it a standard Renault sunroof that pisses water in?
