5 GT Turbo My 91 H 5gtt

I used a wickes wet and dry with a filter on it. £40 lol . My Dyson wouldn't handle it haha. Although I did have to pause till I could see in the box again but that was OK as had to wait for my air to recharge anyway. I used machine marts aluminum oxide grit. Got through two big tubs. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy lol but worth it in the end as you can see.

I was looking at the turbo technically s117 ?
I am not a fan of the phrase stage , but looking aside that it just looks like a reworked t2 with a larger front housing to me.

The specs say its capable of 200hp.

I used to enjoy the full t25 from a rover tomcat on my r5 GTT back in the day , however turbos have moved on a lot these days. I bet Garrett make a far better turbo than either of them not.

Any input @Mart , @Brigsy @DeanGT5 ?

Wow so long. Time flies when you have another kid lol.
So I took your advice Andy and got a second hand tomcat jobby. Trouble was it was as crust as my old one, so I played the waiting game and got this little ripper

Hopefully the right choice will see
Having had to take the engine off the sub frame to remount the sub frame on the car to move it closer to the garage I noticed this

Not bad I know but with all the new looking frame there it looked wrong

So I took a little time off work and got busy with a wire wheel and some acid. After a lick of primer and a smear of paint I have this result

I remembered I snapped the fuel pressure regulator mounting bolt so needed to remedy that. Looking at different ways I ended up using a rivnut which was easy and perfect. Bit of paint on the drilled hole and in it popped.
Now having been actually inside the engine bay I spotted a sorry looking brake servo. I have scoured the corners of the globe trying to find a new one to no avail and was told the last one seen was €900 ...shocking. so I checked over the servo and all seems well apart from the rust. So I dug out the trusty blaster and had some fun with some etch primer

The sponge filter pedal side was mush so I'll have to source one of those or make one. All that's needed now is a lick of black gloss and refit with new master cylinder after I clean up the mounting plate even though it's not seen haha.
