Thank you.
Yes i did have a little welding session as i wasnt happy with a few key areas for strength. mainly where the wishbones bolted on and a few bits here and there. I plan to spray some stone chip paint on the inside with a tube to seal it all nicely so hopefully it will look good for a long time. With a bit of luck i can begin to reassemble soon, just in the process of blasting the wishbones and a few more parts for plating.
I honestly was going to just clean and paint things but the one thing i never liked about the car was the dirty engine bay and seeing some pictures on this site of the before and afters i was like wow.

How it sat for too many years. since 2005

did half to show before and after blasting using aluminium oxide in my 200L tank.

Yes lol . After spending months with a dremel armed with cup brushes cleaning my engine inside and out , I decided i needed something to make life easier restoring old rusty parts. Already having a big air compressor it seemed the obvious choice. This way i could take my time doing bits as and when .
I spend a lot of time fixing other peoples cars and having the blaster really pays off as i can blast bolt threads clean in seconds :)

5000 lol i think ive done 5000 and still got 5000 to go haha
good news is the bits i have done are now at the electro platers, cant wait to see the results. I hope its good.
Then i have to remember where every nut bolt and washer went . should be fun haha.

What you two got to blast ?

IMAG0755.webp IMAG0754.webp IMAG0753.webp IMAG0760.webp IMAG0757.webp wow didn't realise it had been so long since I'd done anything on the 5. I booked some time off work and got a lil busy. I know there's quite a bit more to do as yet but I'm a bit stuck and need advice on something.
Ok I came to the conclusion that my turbo let's the build down. It's old , oily, rusty and has too much play in the shaft for my liking. Question is what turbo to get ?
