Twingo Adey's Twingo GT (F4R+T 2.0ltr engine swap)

So this morning was nice, dry but cool so I decided to try and do some pulls on the draggy. 60 to 130mph is actually very hard to try and do in any sort of safety, same for 100-200kph. I think ill stick to my normal 60-100mph (still silly but safer still) managed to get the following result from the records.

4.51 60 to 100mph isn't shabby at all, and id recently being thinking it was feeling slow....

60-1004.5.webp60-100.webp

I didn’t see 60-100 times before… I’ve just been on dragy and it looks like it’s been updated since I last looked, Good time though 👍🏼

Yeah I agree, we’ve got plenty of big roads near me so it’s a lot easier todo silly speeds at night when there’s no one around.

I agree regarding the 100-200kph runs, just seems dodgy on road. Also funny how quickly you get used to the power you have and want more. Very nice times mate, great power vs £££ spent.

Little bit of prep gone on with the car now we are nearing 2k on the engine. Oil and filter change done, 3rd since the build so ill probably switch back to normal services now. I still need to give the brakes a little bleed I think. I was going to get the alignment changed up for something more track focused like I normally run but its not really worth it for a half day session. I have added a 4 point harness to the car in the best way I can, not ideal with an oem seat but id rather that and be pinned in than strain my stomach muscles (which are still a little off since the op) trying to stay in the seat. Rears in at 22 degrees into 2 x FIA compliant eye bolts and plates, mounted in sheer and 2 x b23a snap brackets beside the seats. Itll do for me (y)

Managed to slap together a video, I think I need to sort a decent microphone for the old gopro and the phone for some reason keeps corrupting videos an pictures. All probably just old and worn out tbh.

Looking forward to the CSFestival, will be a good run out and be great to catch up with folk after the lack of events in the last few years.

Loving the big pulls 💪🏼 Here’s a question for you though… do you ever get big ignition cut after banging it off the limiter afew times?? Sometimes I get it in the Clio and I don’t think it’s the map.

not something ive had, does it only happen it you clip it or its bounced a fair bit? what fuel setup do you run?

Sometimes it’s random 🤷🏼‍♂️ Can be when I clip it or if it spins up and bounces afew times! 197 pump housing with a -6AN return using a ktec/walbro 255 pump. Billet fuel rail with deka 630cc

morning all. I’m wondering if anybody has mates a jr5 to a f4rt 787 if so how and what drive shafts we’re used
if you have a read back through this thread (can use the search button up the top and tell it to search the thread for specific terms) you will find all the info (y). I run a JR5, with the gt hubs you have to build a shaft (info also in the thread) if you fit RS133 wishbone and hubs you can use the complete rs133 shafts too (y)

hope that helps

So where are we at, Took the twingo to the Cliosport Festival. The drive up was stupid with accidents and diversions along the way and took about 4.5 hours. Drove up with @Jezer101 and met up with @Ricardo for a night in the hotel. Got up the next day and met up with the rest of you reprobates (y) The car performed ok throughout the day despite the heat so was kept in low power mode. Intake temps stayed only a few above ambient but the coolant wasn't as happy. It would regularly rise to 100-105 and require a cool down. By the end of the day you struggled to get a good 2 laps in before having to cool down. Upgrades are on the cards to address that, I also have a turbo that may be starting to weep a little when up to temperature. First job when home on the Sunday was to give it a once over, no oil in the boost pipework or catch tank. Nothing to note in the bores and compression still the same as it was. Spark plugs looked good too. Though no oil has been spotted in the downpipe I'm still leaning towards it being the culprit of the smoke 🤷‍♂️ . Only real casualty was the loss of a turbo to downpipe bolt. Anyway @Brigsy has donated me an ali rad so that can go in soon and hopefully help with the cooling and ill try and find myself an undertray which I hope will keep air going through the rad rather than under it.

Also a little vid of @Jezer101 driving the Twingo (y)

No undertray? Man the second you get that on it will really, really help. Even if you have to fab one PMT style is thin sheet metal it will help no end.

This is what happens when all the OE goodness of plastic shrouds and ducting is binned and not fit for purpose.
I've added ducting to force air into the radiator but surprisingly renault only seemed to fit undertrays to RS models, and with them being rare to start with finding a tray off one is even harder.

If I can't find one I may look at seeing if a clio item will fit

Epic conversion and thanks again for letting me take it out. Really impressed with the performance on low boost, must be a riot on high.
Glad you enjoyed it, high praise if its from you 👍🏻bet its a little different to how it was when you last drove it 😅

Do some CAD ( cardboard aided design ) and then some tin snips on thin metal? If your going full send put in a couple , or three NACA ducts in reverse ie vents facing the back to lower the pressure under bonnet further and force more air through the rad / intercooler.
