Twingo Adey's Twingo GT (F4R+T 2.0ltr engine swap)

Managed to get the car back on the ramps for re alignment and measuring of the rear axle changes since fitting a new front CV boot and shimming everything up on the beam. The rear end after the info from Nick at Pure Motorsport is very close to parallel now! the front has been dialled in with a touch of toe out and its running -2 Degrees of Camber all around. Handling with this and the new tyres is confidence inspiring on the roads. I've not had chance to really lean on it yet but it feels great, flat and very planted. I'm happy so far (y) Hopefully we can get some dry days in soon so I can try and have a decent play in it as the tyres in the cold and damp/wet feel just like "normal" road tyres to me, Loads better with a few spins and on a dry line though 😁

Another slightly controversial update, like the tyres, may split opinions. Time will tell if it was a good choice on both 😂 This year a fair few automotive suppliers jumped on the Black Friday deals thing, this meant that I managed to get a set of front and rear Yellowstuff pads from EBC Direct and some braided hoses from Hel Performance with a chunk off the normal retail price. Fitting went as well as could be expected, I mean changing brake pads isn't a massive task bar one rear calliper refusing to wind back on the car but no biggy. Slap it in the vice and lean on it a little and it moved freely (y) All back on and tested and early thoughts are they are absolutely amazing. Ill get them fully bedded in and report back at a later date. The car is pretty much there I think, nearly everything I wanted to upgrade has been done.... so what's next? get some use out of it I think 🙂

I just lobbed a set of blues on the 220 for the track day I have Monday, I used them on the Meglio but never got them track hot... but they are great cold. Feedback on the track stuff next week!
Be interested to hear it too. They did genuinely used to be crap back in the day, but that was 15+years ago for me. I need to put some proper miles on these but first impressions is they are excellent.

It was a wet day - which means lower speeds, less braking force and cooler ambients - but they held up great all day. No fade, no performance loss. Restarting a session the first couple of presses on the warm up lap felt a tiny bit soft but a couple of medium applications and they were back on song.

All good so far but a dry day will be a lot harder on brakes so I will again reserve judgement until I give them a proper pasting in the dry.

After covering a massive 3819 miles since the last mot she now has another years ticket. I got a "well done" for the condition of it from Mr Mot Man and it was given advisory for a chip in the screen. I need to replace the rear number plate bulb holders as one has lost a cover but nothing else to note. Really shouldn't be with the amount of bits its had thrown at it in the last few months 🤦‍♂️ I'm yet to tally up the cost of this last round of upgrades, the initial conversion didn't really cost me too much but making it deal with the power a little better and just be a nicer all round car has probably cost more tbh. Insurance has also been sorted, everything declared came in at £316 for me as my daily, sdp+c 10k miles everything declared through Stirling Insurance.

This is a little doodle showing the driver side driveshaft setup for anyone who happens to come across this thread looking for answers in the future (y)

Amazing technical drawing Adey, ever considered being a draughtsman?
Some of the best technical drawing start as quick sketches on a napkin, still its legible and usable if someone wants to build a shaft. Want me to help you along with some Crayola drawings to get the12v finished? 😁

Had a great day out today in the Twingo down at the Cooksport RS Rolling Road day. Early start followed by loads of chatting and the day flew by. Hardly watched the cars getting dynoed to be honest as I was getting abused by @Sheryl_O 😁 Was great to see @Ricardo, @Brigsy and @Neal R19 too. Car did its thing on the dyno laying down near enough the same numbers it did at EFI back when it was mapped so seemed pretty consistent. Whilst there I took the plunge and purchased one of the very few brand new parts for the Twingo, a Cooksport fuel rail. This will allow me to run my rising rate regulator after the rail, hopefully negating the issue they have with the end cylinder running lean. To compliment this I picked up a 19T hybrid turbo also :D you know because 280bhp in a little 1000kg hatch just isn't enough 😂

Im liking the look of that fuel rail!
Did you convince them to do a group buy discount?!

Does look that part, it can be end or top fed unlike the Ktec version which is end feed only and requires you to chop the manifold to fit it. I didn't ask sorry, was a spur of the moment purchase after looking under the bonnet of a few of their cars
