Twingo Adey's Twingo GT (F4R+T 2.0ltr engine swap)

Running any rake angle?
If I made one you mean? Yeah I'd aim for between 0.5 and 2 degrees on the front undertray/splitter

Or do you mean on the car as a whole? Where the front is lower than the rear in which i set mine to have the same as the rs133 cup.

The UK's fastest Twingo Challenge.

Whilst I'm aware its not a supercar slaying machine it is pretty spritely, so I've challenged myself to have the UK's quickest quarter mile Twingo mk2, a 1 horse race against myself maybe? It should be a good laugh and using a Draggy and eventually/hopefully slips from Santa Pod in the future. If I can hit mid to low 5s 0-60 (2012 Golf R 5.7 2018 Megane Trophy 5.6) ill be happy though traction is an issue. Next up the 60-100mph which I think is a very good on the road comparison with other cars. I want to run very low 6's which again is respectable for a budget built Twingo (2016 BMW M2 and the i8 run 5.8 seconds) And finally the quarter mile (and 1/8th) if I can get the car to dip into a very high 8 second 8th mile it may just run a 12.999 on the quarter, though really I think ill get around a 13.2sqm. Personally I want to beat my old FWD time of 13.4. I'm going to be recording (poorly) the progress along the way so if you fancy keeping up to date hit the subscribe button on you tube and click the watch button at the top of this thread (y)

Maybe less ET will help with traction while acceleration?
Try without spacers ;)
So far launching in first at low boost and giving full power mid way through second is giving the quickest launches though some sticky rubber will probably give the best advantage. The wheels I'm running are pretty light to be fair. Will see how deep we go with hitting the target as to how much rotating mass I pull off 👍🏻

I checked back in the thread as I knew id already measured everything previously. The seats I mention in the vid were 19kgs each! A total of 67kg was removed from the car and I've basically gone back to that, I could get some more weight out with a lightweight battery and seats pretty easily without going to extreme.

I also dug out a picture of my old SC Clio's quarter mile time slip from just over 10 years ago! Took a lot of Facebook digging to find it. This is my personal target to beat in the Twingo, both have roughly the same horsepower, the Twingo has loads more torque but the SC 172 delivered it a lot better and with more revs...

So had a little play in it today, nothing too mad as obviously stopping and sprinting to 60 on the road isn't all that fun. Wheelspin central 😂 that said Dragy clocked a 5.47 0-60mph and I can just clip it in 2nd gear. For comparison a new 4wd Yaris GR does it in a very similar time👍🏻

I've not given the car much attention for a few weeks, its been parked up and I've been stuck in hospital with too much time on my hands. Anyway whilst there I did start piecing together a wish list of brake parts that I needed for a slight upgrade, I just need to find them all. Brake ducting/cooling is high on the list though and I found a chap advertising on Cliosport and Facebook 3d printed ducts. DUCT3D. He does a set for the rs133 and after checking sizes they are the same as the GT (and some fords) so a set have been ordered. Next will be some decent front pads (yellowstuff or mintex are available for the calliper I use), along with a disk rear beam if I can get one (currently trying to find a 133 or Renault wind breaking) That should be a decent little upgrade with some high temp fluid. If not then it will have to get brembos with custom brackets. The brakes currently are not bad but when you ask of them a little you can start to feel them fade. That said I am on normal fluid and oem Peugeot pads.

Not an EBC fan. I tried them on the 8 (yellowstuff) Fading before 10 laps were over mintex 1166 were good and 1177 were dynamite, but could be snatchy I dunno if they would be a good idea on a servoed car.
Freodo DS 3000 are also good. This all based on personal experience
Hospital ? Hope you and yours are all ok

I've never been an ebc fan but the new ones seems to get good reviews and are a good price 🤷🏻‍♂️ the issue I have is the calliper I use isn't supported by many and the ones that do want £150+ for a "fast road" pad. I've used ds2500s and the dsuno before and Carbon Lorraine rc5 and rc6. Sure carbon Lorraine wanted nigh on 230 notes for front pads😳

Yarp, i have a thing called Ulcerative Colitis, bit of an autoimmune disease, drugs no longer work and I've pretty much exhausted the list of treatments available. When I get really bad I end up totally fucked and in hospital to get it back under control. Next time it'll be surgery but should be the last time if so 👍🏻

Everything I have used from EBC in the last few years has been brilliant for the money.

Yellows were outstanding in the HiSpec calipers on 330mm discs, at 30° ambient in the thin air up in the Alps (up to about 2500m altitude). We were about 10% down on power, the engines were all running 10% > normal temp but my brakes were absolutely bang on. Note they do need to get hot to bite properly.

I put blues in the 197 but never got to track it, however, the new owner has beat the shit out of it on track and he says they have been excellent too.

good to know, ive gotten a quote from carbotech to have some pads "made" 200+vat plus the price of a cheap set to strip down. Maybe im out of the loop and thats the norm now? i have found yellowstuff at sub £100

Gave it a quick rinse today as it was covered in shit, I say quick, its taken all day and the interior and glass still needs doing. Hard fucking work in this heat and still half way job tbh. I should probably get one of them snow foam things too, Blast with jet wash and suds, rinsed, cleaned down with a mit and soapy stuff, rinsed again and dried off. Black hole glaze followed by nattys wax. Wheels need a refurb too. Doesn't look too bad now, especially as I really cba to clean it. Might have someone do a proper job one day.

I used the m1177 in my old 172 Kangoo, Absolutely awesome once up to temp, could not get them to fade under any circumstances. Agreed abit snatchy and could lock the wheels quite easily but got used to it.

Not recommended for road use as like blocks of wood when cold though. They actually taught me to brake agressive on warm up lap on track to get the heat into them, and its all systems go after that.

I am still using the Ferodo DS1.11 you recommended, phenomenal pads.

You are not wrong! Can stand on them again and again in exige. Literally the water jets squirt I can brake thar hard. Repeatedly.

don’t seem to wear either!

Endurance compound so wear rate is excellent. I believe dsuno have a slight edge on ds1:11 but they wear faster. Ds3000 are good too but wear fast and not too good from cold.
