Twingo Adey's Twingo GT (F4R+T 2.0ltr engine swap)

Good to see its all working ok on test run. Straight in for mapping no messing about 😁

I think he's currently got a 7 week wait, that's fine by me as I'm sure I will find some issues and it gives me time to get back in work to actually pay for it 😂 Did another short run today and picked up a leak, bottom rad hose to the block is weeping out so need to get it up and sort that out. A mate has offered to stick it on his dyno and check the fuelling and knock whilst at light load to make sure its safe so might get on there next week.

Afr check is worth doing. As far as i know you can monitor knock on clip so that might be an option

If mine makes it back from exhaust fitting on Sat without too much aggro, im booking it straight in😆

Ive already fired off the email for booking, im sure ill hear back Monday/Tuesday next week (y) Oh i need to sort my exhaust still too, the knocking is annoying but it only seems to do it when idling low and trying to pull off. Totally fine when on warm up with higher idle speed.

What does the meg idle at as my ecu is aiming for around 620rpm at the mo, hopefully Chris can tweak idle speed too

I think meg is around 850 rpm according to clip. Have you had issues with it stalling? Im sure Chris will be able to tweak idle speed to suit no bother.

Prob worth resetting the adaptives for fuelling and throttle if its possible on Twingo ecu. Mine was all over the shop, a reset made a fair difference considering.

hasnt stalled yet but will dip quite low before picking back up.. Will bust out the clip and see if it wants to play, couldn't get it working last time I tried.

On the clio's people seamed to have trouble getting over 280bhp with the 2.5" systems.

Just shows how far behind I was when I wrote this!!!

May have to consider doing something like this on my Lad's Twingo eventually. He Mot'd his today. He's done around 500 miles in a year. £1700 insurance!!

The meg engines breathe a lot better with 2.75” or larger exhaust. Shez’s blue meg was 10hp up on a mre or less identical spec meg that had 2.5” scorpion cat back.

Few things really. I'm trying to keep the power or more torque relatively low, I'm still on a 5 speed and 215mm clutch which I don't want to lunch every 5 min lol. I'm running a return fuel system so have more scope from the stock injectors than the meg does, plus the scaling on the stock ecu will need major work to work with 630cc injectors., originally it has injectors big enough for 125bhp. Then as silly as it sounds I don't think id need more power for a while (mad I know lol) 630s and a 15t would see me at 300bhp+ (and id be scared to use it, bottom end worries) then the cost too (y)

As a side/future project for more power and reliability I may swap out to the meg ecu and fit an ndo box but were are then into a lot more work and cost. Would probably need custom shafts for that one but would ultimately require a big outlay in comparison to this. Id also want rods and pistons to make use of the increased strength of the box, maybe a 197 head too.

This project has so far served me well, has kept me mentally busy whilst stuck home and has been built full on PMT style for basically peanuts (see above for costings) Id like to get an use it this year abit then decide what to do next.

I kind of wish I'd have done the conversion then upgraded along the way. I just thought I'd do it once and not have to go back to it. Just not been my luck.

300bhp in my clio is great fun. Been debating on leaving it with the 15T but I've bought it now so I'll go with the 20T.

From my calcs the stock meg 480cc injectors should be good for slightly over 300hp with a rising rate fuel system.

Would not panic too much about bottom end failure to be fair, good smooth map and capping the torque around 300ft/lb is usually sound.
