Twingo Adey's Twingo GT (F4R+T 2.0ltr engine swap)

ooo good to know, similar to what Steve was saying above. No its a floor mounted shifter same/similar to a Clio 2 but with cables. I'm thinking one of the Clio 3s may have something suitable or is the box because its from a megane 5 speed (im assuming dash mounted) that im having the issue?

I have the original Twingo gearbox cable bracket that looks different though the fixings looks the same. Something I will look into but I could live with it easily after driving the 3 speed and 4 speed Dope.

hopefully the shifter mech/linkage arm will interchange, the new box is a JR5 the old twingo a JH3, plus I need to find one. There's a twingo in the scrappy i can take a look at.

I think the modus may have come with my box on the 1.5DCI also and im sure that had a floor mounted cable shift. Might be a few places to look, cheers for the info @Brigsy (y)

Not much to report as not much has been going on. I re shaped the header tank a little and took a lip off the inlet manifold to create a touch more clearance, looks like it'll be fine but if not there a dacia/meg header tank that might be usable. The turbo to downpipe gasket turned up so that's now fitted. Next week all being well I should have a new radiator, some more boost pipes and some more of the exhaust to work with. @Brigsy is sorting me with a front pipe from his hoard of parts and @Jezer101 had an clio exhaust for sale. Its not ideal at 2.25inch I'd but I'll only be using the back box and running 2.75 up to but it fits nice and the tip reminds me of the old GTT exhausts from back in the day. That said I don't really think it will cause a restriction in this setup.

Hard to visualise, but if your forward and back is reversed, the stick and cable cannot be changed as they all do the same thing, The issue is probably at the box with the lever pointing 180 degrees out from where it needs to be if it can be rotated or if another lever can be welded on 180 deg or a tree with equal length arms can be added which will turn pull into push and so on.

I need to double check on a Renault modus dci box but I think the shifter mech on the box may be 180degrees to the one I have. I need to wait for one to pop up in a help yourself scrap yard so I can check it and remove it for a few quid. Will have a mooch around when im next close by to the place.

Yeah its different, now i need to see if they are easily removable

Can you torque the cap heads up properly? I fitted inconel studs and k nuts on mine, when torqued properly they are pretty tight, i doubt i would have went as tight with a ratchet.

the front 2 got a decent yank, the back one ill do when the cars in the air again. I have had a google and it does seem like a common issue (y) even on standard cars it seems, Whats the spec on it? m8 are normally just shy of 30lbft?

Shifter mech is prob just held on with a dowel. Should be easy enough to get off.
Ill take a look on mine tomorrow, there's some sort of plate beneath the arms in the pics, wonder if I can just unbolt the whole section...

It was 40nm from memory, but check the manual. Touch wood, not had one come loose.
