Twingo Adey's Twingo GT (F4R+T 2.0ltr engine swap)

Possibly, i think the next major will be the downpipe/exhaust but will cross that bridge when we get there.

Not much to update currently. Aux belt turned up and that fits perfectly whilst retaining the tensioner. I managed to bag a coil relocation bracket which i should be able to use. Im keep the Coil pack for now but may swap out to coil on plug at a later date. Cambelt still hasnt arrived but i think thats held up in customs, it was purchased through autodoc....

I don't have scales that would tbh. But that said the D4ft engine is really light in comparison to the 225 engine. Like a good 30kg+ different. Its not much over half the capacity mind.

Good spot :grin.gif: still looks like a pile of scrap currently. We are past 2 weeks wait for the cambelt and oil filter delivery. Got some other bits turning up next week though, I want to have this back in the car and fully mounted in the next 2 weeks. Id be happy with that then I can move to all the extras like the exhaust, intake, cooling and rad and hopefully the wiring.

Any chance before it goes back in ya send me a template of the tb adaptor
Can do if you like, all I did was lay both the Meg and Twingo GT TB gasket over each other and drew around both with the centre hole matched up.

@Adey cambelt etc, if it’s from AUTODOC it’s taking about 3 weeks.
If you’re struggling I keep 2 sets in the garage, just incase. Just shout.

Thought id crack on what I thought would be a daunting task but really wasn't. Re-looming everything to suit the new sensor positions, being a relatively new loom it was very easy with no nasty surprises. Most things were very close in position from the d4ft to the F4rt bar a few little bits, plenty of wiring in there to reposition everything that was needed bar the starter motor and solenoid. On the Twingo its on the front of the engine on the f4rt its on the back. As I had the Laguna loom here I removed that section and used it to replace the the Twingo item, this also gave more some heat shielding too. I may have to still extend the wiring for the pre throttle map and air temp sensor but I will do that one the pipe work is in place so I get it right. It looks a mess but everything is in place now, just need to get some insulation tape to wrap it back up and add all the conduit back on but its all there (y)

Looks like great fun. It would be worth getting a couple of rolls of self amalgamating tape to re loom it. Looks original and easy to work with
The original seemed to look like normal insulation tape? the whole loom was covered in conduit with insulation tape at the ends or joints, I could be wrong though. What's the difference between the two?
