5 Gordini about to hit the road again after 10 years!

5 Mot'd and taxed and running. Having its cage and Sparco seats fitted this week, new actuator and the boost set up , then I need to run it about for a bit, see what falls off and what needs tweaking, hopefully not too much. Have A5GDX going on too :0). Some refurbed alloys in black with diamond cut are sat at home waiting too. The white stripes will be coming off as I'm not keen. Was considering badging it with an Alpine badge and stripe kit in dark blue or black , what do people think? Any comments on the engine set up?

Nice

Love the colour.
only thing I am not keenon but dont totaly dislike is the Flair spoiler.
Spoiler is good but I like the Turbo one with longer sides that blend into the gutters.

Did you get a fixed penalty on the yellows?
Or did the warden think the stripes continued over the roof car LOL.

Is it an early Le car 2 turbo?
What renix unit it fitted?
and how is the inter cooler mounted?
haw well does it work?

Not a LeCar, not sure on the Renix yet, but would assume GT Turbo, the engine work was already done when I bought the car and the internal spec is a mystery! Intercooler is mounted in front of the rad. Haven't had the car set up yet but going to start with 12 psi which should be good foe about 150-160bhp depending on what else is done.

I love that colour, and I actually like the white stripes. It shows those young whipper-snappers with their 182's where their cars came from!

Excuse my ignorance but which is the better one to have? I'm sure on my last 'dini turbo we fitted a GT Turbo one.

I have a 299 on my GD turbo,
but as yet I have not run the car at all, will do later this year.
The 299 is supose to be very good.
My other Le Cars have the 036 and I have no negative thoughts on them.
Do a surch on the r5gordini section.
put the question out there as there members who know aloy about these renix units.
I think there is a dizzi replacement for the turbo ont the market programable, it is mentioned in a post.

Looking great - not many of those in the UK now!

Any chance of some interior photos (yes I'm a pervert)

Should have the car back in a week or so, having red Sparcos and red half cage fitted. Was red inside o start so has matching trim panels. Would like a red front carpet but unable to ocate at present. I'll post some pics up when done - the car is sort or 'R' inspired, road /track compromise set up with half cage etc

Outside fettled and finished now, stripes removed and lines polished out, lights removed and cleaned bumpers and black trim all treated, new wheels and tyres fitted. Found it had drilled and grooved front discs and AVO adjustable shocks all round when I put the new wheels on. Need to lower the seats and have a tidy up of the wiring inside and get the boost set up, just running about 8=9 psi at the moment. Drives very straight and true but think the shocks are set max stiff so going to wind them back considerably for road use as bouncy is not the word!
Think it looks better without the stripes :0).

Thats come up incredibly well! Although it does look like someone hit the "EJECT" button on the drivers seat lol :)

Been chipping away at the little jobs to get this finished. Suspension softened a bit , interior rewired and most importantly, got the boost set up this week. Now holding just under 1 bar on the gauge and the car is transformed. We set it up on the road so no power figures but feels like 145-150 bhp and torque will be much the same so a decently quick little car now as it can't weigh much more than 700kgs.
