Thanks @Spooky I have a short, short mid term, mid term, mid mid term, mid long term and onward plan
But getting on the ground and can steer on wheels the short term goal asap....then off to @Mark_L for some of his super skills...having made me a cage before to my brain requirements and a few pictures did not disappoint! Looking forward to this stage
Couple of hours and almost finished bottom pickups, 2 bits need an insert as while happy to bridge a gap as I did on the others as cut out a bit too much, it is too wide so do that next time. Then give everything a bit of a tart up to look a bit nicer and move onto the tops, will box/beef up once happy no tweaks needed....not sure yet on recess cut outs to allow bolt fitment, might just leave
Another power hr....nothing exciting yet but it is warming towards it my wife keeps telling me to stop posting my pathetic progress so this is your last install until Friday
Getting on with top pick ups next, can tidy and beef up frame after. Quick measure and all good and solid
Other side of bracket measured, triple checked and repeat of other side just smaller....however decided on lick of weld through primer and remember why I stopped using it so much as it does not seem to melt as nice as clean bare metal....maybe it's just me but all good
Had 2 hours, most of it triple checking postioning and measurments before 5mins of welding. Happy enough and have a reference point to do the other 3 and can then weld in properly once all is true
Braced when I was doing sills but no weight/load on areas of work atm. If I was to cut the full chassis rail out or other key areas would brace. Is also level on the chassis dolly across 4 main jacking points.
Once done there will be extra strength going back in and tie into roll cage etc before any real weight added to shell
