Twingo Twingo RS133 trackday build

Time to update, a few changes since last time.

Prepared a new rear axle with unibal bearings, stiffning kit and powdercoated gloss black.
Also give i a bit more camber -2.0 at moment.

Got some new brakes on the front, there was nothing wrong with the Megane 3 RS brake setup, but i wanted the AP 5000R kit for a long time.
Pure motorsport seduced me with some good discount the other week so i went for it.
Im gone for some DS1.11 pads this time, really like the endurance style brakepads instead of te sprint race compounds.

Discsize wise i went from 300x24 to 300x28 2 piece rotor.

Pedel feel is much better, insane control on the brakes now.
They stop so hard without triggering the abs.
Deffo a much needed upgrade, should have done this way sooner.

Here is a little update guys, took me some time to post it on here but i got around a finish some things.

The modified rear beam is back on and its transforms the handling a lot. The rear follows the front like never before and the turn in is so much better with a little toe in on the rear beam,
Also fitted new discs, with ferodo ds2500 pads on the rear and some new calipers in red to macht the front.

What i've done to the rear beam:
- Pure motorsport stiffening profiles
- Pure motorsport 22m anti rol bar
- Powerflex black bushings
- Twingo R2 Axle houlders
- Camber -1.5 degree
- Toe in 0.33 degree
- Fresh discs, pads, calipers
- Steel brake lines

Whats the difference between r2 and oem axle holders?

Bought some new rims, speedline turini 16x7 original renault wheels.

13th augustus i went to the nurburgring, a sunday like all others this year.
Very busy day with a lot of yellow flags, like always cant bother, i just do my laps.
At the end of the afternoon they gave free a yellow zone right before i got there, last corner of the track.
Unfortunatly track was not clean, as i turned in the back stepped out like driving on ice, no chance to counter steer.
Went to the inside corner over the curb, it launched me on the roof and i slide a good 150meters on the roof before the car got to a hold.

I got out of the car pretty quick, full of adrenalin offcourse, track closed and marchalls took care of me, the took me right to the ambulance for a check up.
I felt fine but offcourse the adrenalin had took over big time.
Medical personal check me over en i was good to go.
On monday i went to my doctor to check me over again, and all was good luckily.

Twingo is damaged beyond repair, it took a big hit at aprox 140kmph.

Shit happends!!
I know the risks of tourifarten as no other after all those laps, offcourse u think wont happand to me.
Rollbar, proper seats + seatbelts mad the difference for the outcome of my health.
Looking back at that day i was just very lucky in everyway.
- Im wasnt hurt
- only my car was a write off, no others involved
- a lot of the parts are undamged, and can be sold or so........

Anyway, where one door closes, another one opens for u.
A week later a got a text from a rental company at the ring, the run a twingo and it got engine damage and the want to sell it.
Like it was ment to be or so,... so a week later i got myself another twingo rs.

Twingo is a german registed car and a lot of parts need to be swapped from my damaged twingo, like engine, rear axle, full suspension and what not.
I decided that for 2023 its over for me and my twingo at the nurburgring. i Dont have the time to make it ring ready without cutting corners and do it properly.

It wont mean i dont go at all, gave the daily a full day of proper wetlaps, R26 is such a good and very enjoyable car in the wet with michelin ps5.

Oh Daaaaam @Daan2d thats song bad news sir, and the massive loss of a beautiful Twingo RS!!

Costs at the nurburgring was about 1350euro for repair and cleaning, and 580 for the recovery truck.
Insane costs for what happend, but also part of the full touri expierence i guess.
