Twingo Twingo RS133 trackday build

nice update, I would be interested to see some better pics of the fast eddies brace if you get chance?

Here is a little update guys, took me some time to post it on here but i got around a finish some things.

The modified rear beam is back on and its transforms the handling a lot. The rear follows the front like never before and the turn in is so much better with a little toe in on the rear beam,
Also fitted new discs, with ferodo ds2500 pads on the rear and some new calipers in red to macht the front.

What i've done to the rear beam:
- Pure motorsport stiffening profiles
- Pure motorsport 22m anti rol bar
- Powerflex black bushings
- Twingo R2 Axle houlders
- Camber -1.5 degree
- Toe in 0.33 degree
- Fresh discs, pads, calipers
- Steel brake lines

Font brakes are on and i put on some fresh inner + outer trackrods.
Finally the right front dampers arrived from Gaz motorsport, so everything is on the car now.
Got it aligned and it makes all the difference, it drives on rails now. Very happy with the outcome.

Today we have a tour with same other twingo rs's, we are going to 4 different countries over some twisty roads, we start off in the netherlands, then go to belgium, luxembourg and back through germany to arrive in the netherlands later on. Its a 350km tour so plenty to enjoy the car.

So the evening before the 4 country tour it was time to put on some exhaust.
I bought a second hand Bastuck exhaust, german brand.
It has a fine crispy sound, not to loud and obnoxious.

The 350km tour was aweson, the twingo felt sharp and steady.
I've enjoyed it the whole day.

After this awesome tour it was time for the twingo to finally hit the track, so i went to the nurburgring on Tuesday evening. A friend with a megane 3rs 265 came along.
At the ring it was really quiet, only some locals and people who where on holiday. big + the Grandprix track was open!

Twingo was mega on track, its so light and nimble.
Big parts of the track are full throttle as it only has 133bhp/160nm, that made it a lot of fun.

I felt something was missing on the ring pictures, so i fixed that the day after. Offcourse a proper sunstrip.

That's it for now!

Thanks andy, offcourse i dont mind:drinks.gif:

Last sunday did another 7 laps on the Nurburgring nordschleife, i played a little bit with the rebound settings of the dampers.
Didnt go to hard as the nordschleife isnt the perfect smooth track like some other racetraks.
This little car gives me so much joy and fun on track, corner speeds are high and i can break so late with it.

Ive change the front and rear pads from EBC RPX front and Ferodo DS2500 rear to Pagid RSL29 all around, for me a hugh difference, the RPX brake hard but i didnt like the pedal feel, not always the same feeling, so it makes u doubt how well it would stop.
Good old RSL29 as i always used on my other RS cars give u so much confidence, for me that justifies the pricetag on them.

In the meanwhile a bought a Clio 3 RS, it really needs some TLC over the winter. Last owner didnt took great care of it.
I missed my old RS197, the little twingo reminds me so much of the RS197. It is bassicly a little 197, not super fast, but a really short gearbox and a lot off fun when u push them.

Pics of the RS197:

Hi Guys, how you all doing?

There was not much going on with the twingo besides trying to drive it as mucht as i can.
I booked a long weekend at the nurburgring with some friends, saturday till tuesday first weekend of october.
Epic long weekend with 4 days of driving, we had all types of weather, sun, rain, fog, and 1 very cloudy day.

Also I did a trackday in belgium at circuit Zolder, Small technical circuit that is very hard on the brakes and tyres.
Fun to do in a hothatch, but i didnt enjoy it as much as the nurburgring.

In the meanwhile i did a small job on the F4RT conversion, had to make a adapterplate for the GT throttlebody.
I Bought a secondhand fuel sender to fit a walbro 255LH punp in it.
Dent removal guy was at my work the otherday, i had a small one in the passangerside door, all gone now.

Small vids of 3 passes at Pflanzgarten:

Yes, there is.
Made everything ready for the engine swap, like engine loom ect ect, but i decied im not going to swap my twingo.
Drove a lot of nordschleife this year and the twingo was really enjoyable like it is now.
For 2023 season i bought a jahreskarte so i can drive unlimited laps on the nordschleife, but in order to do that i need a reliable tracktool.
Not gonne gamble with the swap and have some kind of little issues i need to solve every time i take it out.

Now im keeping my eyes open for a cheap rs133 to do the engine swap.
In the meanwhile i bought a white megane 2 r26, only 3 in the netherlands registerd.

I start working on the clio 197, done the rear axle like the twingo, pure motorsport stiffening kit, poweflex black and so on.
The clio needs a lot of tlc, that is where my time and money is going the couple of weeks or more.
