Mot'd, taxed and back on the road. Only service items required and a smooth transaction back into use, with 600 miles or so trouble free driving this year.

Not just a tidy little 5, but now an investment, heading toward a retirement/pension plan! It's great to see such a cool little car thats loved and used, and not just a garage queen.
Need to get it used a bit more before the winter arrives. Weather has been crap, which makes me reluctant to use it, as they are crap to drive in the rain. I wanted to go to Retro Rides in it, but sadly way too much stuff on at the moment, Next year maybe.
Pulled the gtt out for a Corona clean up yesterday.
BH autofoam and pressure rinse to get the dust off, 2 bucket wash, dried. Still beads up epic.
Tape pack of choice yesterday
Eyes like flying saucers
Sat in it and relived my youth for a bit
Finally pulled my finger out and got it mot'd after a 3 year layup. Cleaned up as was looking rather barn find covered in dust, Fresh fuel, primed oil and fuel system and it fired up easy enough. Mot'd and 10 mile test run, no issues to report, cruised along with the old tape player on and happy hardcore tape packs playing to relive my youth!!
Still very clean underneath, garage has kept it right.
Grp n silencer replacement pipe for all the bangs and turbo whistle with no silencers.
Thanks for reading!!
Gtt is sold! The time was right, as not used it in 3 years and had no real plans to use it with the Trophy added to the collection.
A few pics of it all cleaned up for the memories.
Bought this ex cup racer suite from 1986 last week from Vinted, cost a few quid but had to have it, and thought it would be nice to have a few pics wearing it next to the car for a nice keepsake. 18 years of Renault5 ownership is over.
Over and out H34BDM its been a blast!!

Crikey, that's a surprise letting it go.....but when it's time , it's time .
I've held onto cars and bikes for years and years, and when you finally put some big boy pants on and let go, it's surprisingly relieving .
Market is past it's peak in my opinion, things might be getting tighter from now on, and first stuff to go will be people's toys and investments.
Cheers mate. Its been coming for years and with the arrival of the Trophy i felt like the time was right. Ill miss seeing it in the garage but apart from that prob not a lot. I totally agree that the market is maxed out and stuff is not selling, and no doubt itll be harder to sell in the future.
Ive never been in it for the dollar so a sizeable profit in some respects is nice and even if it did make the new owner money in the future im not too bothered.
One thing for sure is that ill never have to work on a 32dis carb ever again fingers crossed
Iam indeed a Trophy owner now and Shezs bank balance is fat after a straight swap in theory. Trophy stands me at £1800 as that was the gtts purchase price nothing has changed really as we both share all of our cars but if i fancy putting a gt35 on it and flex fuel ive got free reign now
When the suit came up for sale i had to have it. Its a large and barely fits lol.
Indeed mate its been a good run. Just cant use them as intended anymore as too hard to find parts, but glad we got to enjoy them in the glory years when they were cheap and plentiful and could be driven flat out. Newer Renaultsports are the way forward now
