TOM00001 going up for auction

TOM00001 what’s the story?

I thought it was built after Ph1 production ceased, as a gift to TOM. Essentially, cobbled together from spare parts.

This auction narrative pitches it as a development model/mule.

Shame none of those spare parts were were from a typical ph1. I'm not so sure the engine is all typical ph1 stuff either. I remember Phil taking me out in it and it seemed a little more peppy than mine and mine was no slouch at the time. In my opinion, this is the best vee out there from both a history point of veiw and specification. It was a wonderful car to be in and is how the V6 should have left the factory in both Ph1 and Ph2 guise. Interms of investment, who ever buys it next needs to hold on to it for a while I reckon. I'm not sure what it has been up to for the past few years but it used to be used as an everyday car and I mean in snow and all mother nature would throw at it. I would love to see it go for alot of money now. I used to get pissed off just people talking about it around me as Phil offered me it for £7k and I missed the boat by a few hours after it was traded in for a twingo. Lol Some money has been made on that car along its way.

Interested to see what this makes... Mrs9 has her eye on a house :(

It’s a funny one Dom... not being ‘standard’ might put folk off or draw stronger bidding. It will be bit of a misdemeanour.

My guess is there’s a high reserve on it and buyers premium is ~15%.

So it either won’t sell or will go for £40k+. Probably depends how pissed up the bidders are.

I like the interior but those functional sabelt steering wheels are frigging ugly!

I’m pretty confident in saying, Phil fitted that Sabelt wheel during his ownership. It had a standard steering wheel on it originally, in leather.

Great to catch up with you yesterday. Have a great weekend, now you’ve discovered the sights, sounds and music of the International Paddock [cmilie=iconcheers.gif]

+ 15% fees!

With that being a sport evo sort of price you expect for one of them!

I see that the merc evo 2 made nearly £170,000..
cracking example and low mileage
