Ok, been burning my eyeballs out browsing battery relocation images and sites to get my head round what I need to do and what I need to buy in order to get this job done. I think, given enough time could be a job I could tackle myself in a day IF I have ALL the necessary parts. It's a job I don't want to start and not finish as i'd like it all back up and running the same day.
So, keeping it really simple and in lamen terms for not only me to understand and use, could we have a list of ALL the parts needed to complete this job. Links from websites, E Bay etc and the reason(s) why the part is needed. I mean this could fall on its ar5e but you don't get if you don't ask, I'm a fairly practical person and willing to give it a go.
What I think I know, obviously a battery. I'll be using what's in the car already to keep costs down, it works. Bracket or box for means to secure the battery to the shell of the car, it will sit in the boot area on the passenger side. Negative side earthed to chassis. Positive lead running from the battery to the engine bay, from there I have no idea what I need! Talk on inline kill switch, breakers, inline fuse, where it connects to in the engine bay? I don't know, so I'm hoping between some of you lovely club members you'd be able to chip in.... Please

Needs some sort of thermal breaker, close to the battery as possible. Most factory terminals have them built in the battery terminal clamp. Bmws have batteries in the boot as standard so raid the local scrappies for their set up
I've heard all about this Beemer setup just need to know what I'm looking for

This means I have a deadline now, I'm not a fan of deadlines with bits that still need doing as it creates unnecessary pressure when things are beyond my control. Anyway, I'll press on with the to do list.

Your car is more than ready for track... Mine is far from it... Tempted to bring it up on a trailer and work on it there....

What can go wrong with a load of blokes , beers , egos and spanners?
Ok, so the last week I've been playing about with the interior plastics, namely the glove box trim, door pull handles and the centre console. Been a bit of a ball ache what with the weather but they're getting there, quite happy with the glove box trim with a little touch I added before lacquer finishing it IMO. I'm relatively happy with the outcome bar the centre console but it will do. Door pulls and trim will be fitted Wednesday, the centre console needs a wet n dry flat back and re lacquer, the joys of doing everything outdoors and not getting an even cover over the whole console.
To add, the number plates arrived in the post today so again a big thanks to Paul at Renault Parts Direct again for the efficient service. I've also spoken to Alex regards the last of the mechanicals and hopefully I'll be dropping off the Megane to leave it with him until it's all done..... Potentially including battery relocation too.
Aaaaand, also sorted a stereo from our very own Monsiour Andy Bond so at least I'll have some tunage for the trip to Blyton. On a side note is there a possibility of running a 3.5mm aux lead from the OE stereo?

Seen this tonight, I've been out in the Megane 2-3 times now and with spirited driving on country lanes etc. I know it sounds silly but there have been times where I need to know what gear I'm in, different graded corners in different gears. So I saw this on Demon Tweeks and think this will help, I need to physically see the gear number I'm in and not have to look down in split seconds. I want to keep my eye on the track or road ahead of me.
