Renault 11 Turbo Phase 2 Restoration

Good afternoon in the garage today... Made a concerted effort to try and get all of the hoses back in the engine bay (Carb Overflow pipe & Boost) together with the Intercooler:

I then realised that the O/S/F corner of the engine bay was (relatively) complete, so I thought I would have a go at fitting one of the headlights. Dug a box out of the secret stash:

And then chuckled when I looked at what date it was delivered.... FFS! 😳

Headlight fitted - AND IT ONLY BLOODY WORKS!!!!!!!!!!! :clapping.gif::

ive not forgot about the bumper for you steve, i squirrelled the car away at my sisters and at present cant get anywhere near it, will try and get her to fire me some pics of it over but wouldnt hold out much hope for her 😂

Didn't want to fill up your clio thread with 11 stuff.
With the headlining, there can't be a gap everywhere, is it worth just byting the bullet and getting something like I linked on all the areas you can and seeing if it holds?
How much of a gap are we talking, maybe someone can suggest something?

Yeah I think I’ve got to just try something... it’s what has stopped me.

Seen this one recommended by a guy who does restorations, screen shot from a recent project to add context and product info

Edit: was thinking you needed something to stick it up with, not something that expands to fill gaps. Might be something on their site though?

Steve, a couple of questions,
1. Have you got a link to the wiring wrap that you used? I think it looks the mutt's nut's!
2. Where did you get the hoses from? I will be getting rid of the red hoses on mine and want OE looking hoses.

Thanks.

Hi @Chris74#

1) It's Techflex Braided Sleeving. I had to search pretty hard (and pay through the nose) for the silver stuff to come from the USA I used in this car. However for my Clio 182 I got some from THIS COMPANY in the UK.
2) The hoses are all the original ones fitted to the car at the factory. You will have read that I got the Red 11 Turbo Breaker, which was a goldmine of rare bits I've used. If I was you rebuilding your 5GTT now, I would be looking very hard a the "Classic" style silicone hoses

FYI If you want to tag me in a post, just type the @ sign and then my username without a space., so @ Chris#74 (without the space) becomes @Chris74#

Ladies & Gentlemen.. I do believe we are BACK IN THE GAME!!!

As you will have read over the last few posts, the whole sticking the roof-lining back into the car has been seriously doing my head in, as I've not known what the right stuff is to use...? Well I recently had cause to have a fish around under the headlining of my Clio 182 and sure enough I felt some Adhesive holding it up!!

With this information I got in touch with my local parts guy at Renault and begged him to do some research on it for me... well the good old lad has come up trumps!!

Yes I've now got a written document telling me how Renault Recommend the adhesive to be placed... AND I've got a lead on the right stuff that they recommend to use, it's a windscreen adhesive!! It's called MonoPac Evolution Adhesive:

Even better, he'd got some in-stock, and I'm going to pick some up!!

A very happy little camper at this moment!! I'm hoping I'll get the headliner back in the 11 Turbo this Bank Holiday Weekend!!

Thanks for reading!!
