It goes into the oven for a bake in order to remove the majority of the paint, sealant and all of the other good stuff that these cars collect over a thirty year period. Then it is jet washed and the blistered paint and rubbish removed. Then it goes into the acid bath for a soak followed by a quick jet wash and then a dip in a neutralising tank. Then its off for a full sand down and then a 2Pk weld through etch primer is applied.
Then its back home to get on with some welding and the dreaded seam sealing!
Update from the dippers!! The R5 has survived the bake and dip and is now in for a rub down and weld thru primer! ready to collect on Thursday! It doesn't look too bad at all @Big Steve - Raider & @DaveL485 What do you think guys???
