My R11 TL Daily

I just collected this from a nice seller near Manchester. It came with loads of brand new spares.
It seems very honest, low mileage and good condition - although it needs some bodywork TLC.
It's a 1.4 and is quite nice to drive.

A couple of initial questions, if anybody can help:
Does anybody know where I can get a front wing?
What other front seats will fit these? They are a bit saggy in the base and I'd prefer some more support for longer journeys!

The plan is to fit some winter tyres, check everything thoroughly, loads of waxoyl and then use it daily. I may fit some GT Turbo suspension to make it a bit more stable. The brakes are a bit wooden too.
I guess GT turbo bits will bolt straight on?
Thanks!

Gotta love an 11 !

My only worry is front seats are a funny tilt affair, but can't remember where the runners are?.....thinking they are a narrow fitting, there's loads of space down the sides underneath, and my Renault mats used go right under the seat at each side on my 11T.

Thanks! I don't know much about the 11's, but have always like the shape.
Yeah, the seats seem to have really narrow runners, so I guess only R11 seats will go in then? I don't want to be cutting and modifying to fit different seats really, in case I want it standard again.
I imagine Turbo seats are worth a fair bit these days are they Dave?

I may have to repair the wing, no probs.

Will GT Turbo dampers fit? It may be nice to make the thing a little more stable, but without going too stiff.
I'm thinking of fitting phase1 GT Turbo wheels, for 185 wide winter tyres.... what do you think?

this is awesome, from what i remember as long as you have the matching gtt top mounts to shocks they will fit up, i think (could be wrong its been a while) but ph1 gtt stuff is direct fit.

This is so full of win i love it (y)

them wheels would look cool on a campus

I could be wrong but I think there are blanks in the carpet for wider runners and holes for captive nuts . I put 5 GTX seats in a rare three door that was fire damaged .but can not remember how much work it was

Not really. Supply and demand, and there's no demand (but then, not much supply either lol)

Ill keep my eye out for some, might be worth asking Mike @ GT Turbo spares I know he's dabbled with a few 11's too.

Thanks @jack11electronic and @DaveL485. I'm hoping standard R5 bits will fit for most things that may need attention, like the rear brake drums. I may need some help with part numbers in the future though, so thanks for that!
I've got a few ideas, but I shouldn't get carried away - It's my only car with an MOT at the moment and I've got 1000+ miles to do over Christmas.
Is the GT Turbo rear beam the same, out of interest?
Thanks.

not sure it is tbh, i know the mounting points on my old 11t were the same as a 19 16v though. was a little wider overall.

Elaborate please? Does the axle fit, just the wheels sit further out?

Sam, I dont think the full R5 axle fits from memory but a lot of R5 bits to switch in and out.

axle bolts up all oem like but is wider either at the arms or the hubs so the wheels are pushed further out. probably wouldnt cause an issue on stock wheels, i had a bit of rubbing on the arch when hitting bumps but i was lowered and ran turbines

Got some Gt Turbo front brakes to go on.
Does anybody know if phase 1 GT Turbo Dampers/coilovers would be a direct fit?
I'm looking to stiffen it slightly and have some GT Turbo bits I could use. I won't bother if somebody can tell me it won't work - It'll save me loads of bother!
Thanks in advance!
Sam

I got the car on the ramp this afternoon. Its really good underneath and very original. It needs a water pump urgently, otherwise the other bits and bobs can wait.
I had a look at some ph1 gt turbo dampers and they are different mountings to the hubs, and the 11 used a pivot midway on the damper instead of in the top mount. Is that the same on the 11 turbo?
