5 GT Turbo Low mileage, 1 previous owner, pearl PH1

Looks like the 5 won’t be Blyton, the rear bearing won’t be replaced in time (booked in for Saturday 26th), I am working a lot of nights and cba to get my hands dirty.

So will be up in the mini instead....

May I just say... that Is a FAIL of the highest order Mr Smith. :punish.gif:

Rear wheel bearing on a 5 is pressed into the disc, so replacement is a matter of (On a Phase 1 GTT):
  • Wheel Off
  • Undo rear caliper retaining bolts and move caliper out of way
  • Caliper retaining frame off axle
  • Screwdriver in one of the bolt holes to stop disc rotation then big 32mm socket to undo rear axle disc replacement nut
  • Disc and bearing slides off in one fell swoup
  • new Disc and bearing slides back on
  • Re-assembly of everything..
Come on Mr Smith, get those balls grown and man up to it... WE NEED to see it.. :bt:

Its easier than that description

Only need to take the caliper frame off that holds the pads in, 2 bolts & hub nut to undo once wheel is off. The stub axle is fixed no need to wedge anything with a screwdriver, power bar and crack it off.

30 mins a side max get it done Chris would be nice to see it. The other option is drive it, i done about 1k miles when the rear wheel bearing was knackered on my gtt:p

He’s right you know! It was the Phase 1 wheel that threw me, because it covers the hub nut I usually undo it with the Centre cap off on a phase 2 with car on ground to stop wheels turning.

Even easier now @Chris Smith! Get yourself a pair of discs with bearings and pads and then you’re really good to go!
