So I've added another Quadra to the collection of cars that want fixing!
@stavers had originally been in touch regards some parts and so jobs to be done but had lost interest as he had found another project so offered it to me, a price was agree and I picked it up.

A few minor niggles as expected from a car that has been stood but called in at a local mot on the way home. Nothing major with the usual poor handbrake, a caliper binding, the horn not working and a few holes in the sills but deemed safe to drive, so set off home and to be fair, problem free.
First up was the engine bay, we had agreed that as I want this to be oe as possible some items would be removed and given back to be sold separate.

Bits off

Going to want a flush out!
image.webp
Turrets not too bad

The lower section could do with a tidy up but not important at this stage.
Checked over the sill with a little tapping!

Built back up with oe parts to get running again and parked up for a bit.

I want to take my white 21 off the road for a bit so I've pulled this back in to get the mot work done.
A quick look at the sills again, 2 holes Ns, 1 os.
Start with the ns

It's had a few previous repairs so will just add and make a little prettier

good work as always buddy, your fab skills are excellent. got a couple of cars here that could do with a visit up to you....:ag:

Good stuff mate, but get some stands under it! Don't want you squished!

I slide the wheels under if I get underneath, they're fatter than I am lol.
The 11 is using my other big jack and several axle stands so I'm a bit limited until I pull my finger out with that.

Could be better, the mig I'm using isn't the best and bodywork is usually covered over so I'm never bothered how neat my welds are but I think it's important to make it look right.
The 11 is the kinda thing I want to be doing, or unusual stuff like your 8, but whatever pays the bills :D

They didn't look that bad until until I poked about more and decided to open it up. That jacking point has rotten from the inside too as has the bottom of the pillar, but it seems I didn't take pics, both look ok from outside. Looks like it's just been overplated and waxoyled in the past. They're next.

I am genuinely not happy with how bad the car is. I had no idea and no inkling of what it was going to be like!

How could you without poking about? There was plenty of waxoyl in the outside, it's rotted from inside where there wasn't any.
Just a case of bashing on and and getting it road legal again, no sleep lost here :ag:

Very true. Still feel a bit bad about it though!

Gdgd. Will be good to see her up and about again.

exactly the reason i try and document things on the site with regards to my many cars.... its like a modern day build folder that can be viewed by anyone especially the new owners.

Limited pictures as I was on a mission. Continuing the sill repair, the rear subframe mount was gone too
image.webp

It wants the subframe off to sort properly so patched up for another time
image.webp image.webp

At the front end of the sill
image.webp

I'd already noticed the jacking point was rotten on the insideimage.webp

So chopped the corner out and started again with extra welds
image.webp

Finished with the usual gravitex
image.webp
The outer, should have changed that upper peice too but difficult with the wing on.
image.webp

With the the bodywork mot ready the rear brakes needed sorting. They wouldn't bleed up and no fluid. Traced to the load valve. Removed, cleaned up and refitted
image.webp

Noticed the red/blue pipes are disconnected?
Also this sensor not plugged in too. Yet to read up
image.webp

Nsr caliper had a weapy nipple which snapped so caliper changed for a spare. Handbrake adjusted. Brakes good.

Horn last on the fail sheet. Plenty of wd40 in the inlet hose, let soak then blast it through. Easy.

Ready for its mot so dropped it off
image.webp

Almost passed too. Ns engine mount sheared during its 'cleaning' of the brakes on the estate.
Mount replaced that evening and now has a fresh mot. Some advisories but minor.

With that, a deposit has been taken and going to a good mate of mine, I'm sure he'll make himself known once it's collected.
