Hi, New member with fondness for the Frenchy with the girls

Hi Folks,
Just joined the forum 5 minutes ago despite having had my V6 for 7 years. He is No.100 and since he is in Iliad blue with number plate "ELO" the family nickname is MrBlueSky. Live in Renfrewshire near Glasgow and have only ever seen one other 255 on the road up here so feel a bit special & privileged.
Big fan of the small hot Renaults and also have a rather tired Williams (No. 91) sitting on the drive. Both truly wonderful cars - well the Williams was when it was in better nick.
Got a problem today with the local RenaultSport dealer telling me that the rear tracking was not adjustable on these cars and perhaps I should take it to a bodyshop because it must be bent !!!!
Hopefully you lot will be able to help me keep my sanity as well as keeping one of these special machines on the road.

Welcome aboard fella. The tracking most certainly is adjustable. It uses the same hubs and steering arms on the rear as other renaults do on the front. Take it back and insist you show them. Nothing beats showing a dealers ''top mechanic'' up infront of a manager.

Welcome fella.... Another worrying story of a main dealer that knows nothing about the cars they are supposed to support!

I had some dealings with a great dealer called WD Semple in Inverary many years ago... Would be a cracking drive out of Glasgow if nothing else

Main dealers!! cocks, its worrying really. Oil change on a 1.6 megane is the limit to some of them. Its not just Renault, ive had it at many over the years. I had it recently at a BMW dealer. When I told them my headlamps were set too low on my new car they ordered a new lamp, told me they were self leveling so didnt need adjusting. I went to the workshop and ponited out to the technician and sevice manager the car may well have self levelinng lights but it needs a 'zero' point setting to know where to work from/ where level is. I then watched as the guy did the adjustment.
They loved being proved wrong, espcialy by a bloke in a wheelchair! (i pointed out i have been in the motor trade since the mid 80's - so dont mug me off!)

Iain, you are correct, it is Pollockshaws, and I will pick up the car tomorrow, point out their complete incompetence .and promptly take it elsewhere.
It will take more than that for me to accept £3.50 as a trade in against a new car

David I had my Ph1 in there and was told they had a specific tech that works on any V6 through the door, that was a few yrs ago right enough. I'm sure they are the supposed Renaultsport dealer too. Offered me £3.70 for mine though

I can add to that, I sent my civic in to Honda for a rattle in the cabin, they didn't fix it.... Sent it in again and they damaged it! They kept the car, fixed and resprayed it, 6 months later the paint started to flake and instead of taking it back in they blamed external damage (tree sap, bird mess tec) a year on and I FINALLY managed to get them to admit it was a bad job. They will give me £200 towards the whole roof bring sprayed..... total cost £500 jokers.....

Oh and the last service that was done on the Clio had over a litre more oil in the engine than it needed (max line) ..... Lucky I ALWAYS check
