21 Turbo Head/Turbo/Inlet Upgrade

As my 21 is probably never going to get MOT again (another fail...) i'm thinking about just use it on track in the future.

I started looking for Parts to get the car more extreme as MOT is not a question anymore and found a guy who sells:

a head with uprated springs and bigger valves, polished and enlarged ports, new,
a Garett GTX 3076R with manifold and external wastegate, new,
a special build inlet manifold (cossie style) with 70mm throttle body, new,
stand alone system sybell C4,
forged rods and Arp bolts, new,
a set of new 17 inch azev wheels with new 225/35/17 Falken,
and M?gane R26 brakes with lines and bolts ready for installation.

The guy is asking 6500 Euros for this,
should I buy that stuff or leave the car as it is...

I need some advice as i'm not sure to buy this because it's lots of money for a future track-only car.
But i'm sure this would get the car to another dimension as i'm just stuck under the 300 horse (best RR result was 286bhp) for a while.

We can't answer that question mate, thats your decision! Value for money though, thats probably about retail cost anyway so you could do it yourself bit-by-bit for that price.

Surely for an mot fail, it's not safe to use on the road, so upping the power and using it on track that's more dangerous?
Agree with dave, seems pricey too although its new, 1000ish for each part? Does he have a break down?
No guarentee to make more power on the same cam either

It is not that the car is not safe, the problem is only that I live in a small country where we have only one technical-control-center (MOT). They now have decided to clean our roads from "this sort of cars..." A friend of mine who own's a 5GTT also had problems alltough the car is mint. Luxembourg is made for rich people who can buy million euro houses and porsche's or very poor people who are getting everything from the government. The middle / worker class, is getting very thin here.
Well that's a little bit of frustration talking out of me, because I failed MOT now for several times;-)

The car never let me down in all these years and I will not give it to the junkyard, it's great fun driving it even if I can just drive it on a track.

So you think the parts are to pricey. The guy bought everything but did not put it on the car and decided to sell again. He has lots of other parts. exhaust, cams, pulleys, body kits, steel liners, crank, polished engine bloc, gaskets bolts and so on. It's a frenchie, about 200km from me.

Maybe I'm just tempted by the bling bling parts and huge Turbo... I think we all know that feeling;-)

The head could work great with the Europacup cam which is on sale here, or am I wrong?

As i was free from work today, I took the Meggy for a ride an traveled to the beautiful "Alsace" (its where Seb Loeb comes from;-) )
I bought the head, the inlet (I could not resist, it's a piece of Art) and one of the R26 brake sets.
The Turbo is available for less money and I'm not sure if its the right one for me. I left the wheels and the rest were it is ;-)

Does anybody remember who was selling the europacup cam?

Nice, any pictures? The reason I said pricey is that they seem to be similar to new prices, but try to get the bits elsewhere.
Did you get a more detailed list or pics of what he has?
Pm sent.

Pictures don't seem to work... I have the same problem on the WilliamsClio Forum, they use the same Uploader. And I'm not a Computer Guy;-)
In the past I could post pics without any problem.

Most parts are new, I found the Turbo already cheaper in the TurbozentrumBerlin Shop and they give 10-15 % on special occasions several times a year.

I have a list of the parts but it is in french. If your interested I can mail it to you.

For pictures I upload to photobucket, copy and paste the IMG link here, that's it.
Yes please send me the list, although I think the prices will be more than I'd like to pay, will send my email via pm :)

I am looking for parts to build a whole new engine, and sell the "old" one after.

I found most parts on different sites
Does somebody know the difference between "standard" forged pistons and "europacup" forged pistons (both from W?ssner)? Apparently the europacup ones are lighter, but should fit.

I presume tuning wise std 8:1, Europacup 7:1 so would depend if you want high compression with less boost and more timing adv or low comp and tonnes of boost. I would got higher comp if I was to use the Europacup cam.

Then it should not have an 8:1 compression. Maybe I should take the "standard" ones, I have them in the current engine and they work fine.

Is it worth taking 82,5mm liners and pistons or not?

I guess it's just the grade of metal that differs, more so it's melting point if mapping isn't correct?
I don't know what size the std liners are, larger bore would increase cc if using same pistons/rods and I would use them, unless the wall thickness is smaller than std making them weaker.
