5 GT Turbo GTT getting ready for the track.

image.webp image.webp image.webp image.webp So today I have been playing with a 3" rear exit can. It's not a scorpion but it looks the same.
Basically I wanted the noise of a side exit but out of the back, so I cut this open and pulled out all the baffle material so now I can I have nice looking exhaust instead of the side exit which is not that pretty if you ask me.
I did buy the 2" straight pipe in stead of a back box on ebay but it looked tiny.

image.webp image.webp image.webp image.webp image.webp Ok so more stuff done,
My boost pipes and lobster are back from the powder coaters the exhaust has been welded back up and I fit the 2.25" system with the butchered back box.
I did a start and rev and it sounds ok but still not as loud as my unsilenced 2" side exit.
Although the smoke concernede a bit . It's only the second time it's been run since I swapped the liner.
The new loom I fit for the engine is great my oil level actually works now ! Only thing is the fAn runs all the time ! I swapped the relay and same and disconnected battery and reconnect it and the fan did not come on for about 10 seconds then after another 10 it went off. Confused ! Ps I know I'm missing jubilees etc this was just a trial.
Also any input as to wear I should locate the rocket cover breather ? I have a pipe coming off it and can mount it anywhere do I get a catch tank ? Or just a filter ?

image.webp image.webp Well good news I have a MOT
Car drove fine 10 miles to work and back in the wet. I have a rocker cover leak I think as I'm getting oil down the back of the block onto the sump and I have smoke at certain points on overun which I fear is the turbo oil seals but overall I'm happy it's been a long time well March this year I took the car off the road. It just has to last the summer and then I will have to have a good think about what I'm going to do.

Also have been playing with my old DSLR so I will get them edited and post them up here.

image.webp image.webp image.webp image.webp image.webp image.webp image.webp Hello boys

Well the car is on the road it's got a new MOT with no advisories.

The car drives lovely with good idle and AFRs the only down side is I'm getting smoke off boost on overun so I fear turbo oil seals are on there way out but having said that I swapped the rear exit for side exit as I missed the sound and it hardly smokes now !!
I did a compression test and I'm seeing 145 psi all round.

I still need to get the little bits of welding done but they are not structural so not too concerned about rushing them.
I also need to have a look at my steering for one the wheel is not straight while driving but worse than that is the play I have in the steering so must be combinations of worn out old bushes bearings etc.
That will have to wait as it's been like that since I got the car.
My oil level/oil pressure gauge stopped working the other day so I removed clocks and reheated the solder and made sure connections were good, the oil pressure works but the oil level with ignition on does not, any ideas ?

I don't know if it's related but my started motor sometimes does not work as in you can hear the soilnoid engage but does not turn but next turn of the key it will fire up ?
@Brigsy advised to fit relay in line of excited wire with love and Earth at relay but my question is can I use a fan relay ? Or does it need to be something specific. Also as a side note could it be the connections on the back ignition barrel that's causing the oil pressure gauge to play up and starter to not spin ?

Here's some pictures of the car with the TR sticker

P.S the speedo shots were taken while clocks were out to play a little trick on @Chrispr5 @jermaine666

image.webp Well I have started putting a few bits and bobs in the car for blyton like camping gear and some spares/tools etc I am a bit nervous about the journey as it will be the longest drive since rebuild and then it will be hit hard on track. I just don't want it to breakdown too early in the day haha. I also have @Brigsy the 2" unsilenced rear exit ready to take also for Jon.

I have fuel pump, clutch cable, tax sensor, spare carb, various clamps and aux belt is there anything else I should take parts wise?
