Description

Very reluctantly I need to sell my 21 Savanna:( I replaced the circlip and washer that holds the diff together the other week and it was going fine for over 500 miles then it popped again yesterday morning leaving me stranded at my mates house 30 miles away so I was stuck. Having a choice of either walking home or buying the astra diesel my mates neighbour was selling I chose to buy the astra (may god have mercy on my soul) so the old girl has got to go.

Its an Etruscan Red 1994 Renault 21 Savanna RT 1.9 Diesel with the F8Q engine (same as a clio or 19 etc) bodywork wise its absolutely solid and I have just fitted 2 as new front wings to try and tidy it up a bit, the only thing that really lets it down cosmetically is the drivers door. At some point in the cars past the check strap broke and the door come round hitting the back of the old wing and putting a crease down the front of the door and the rear doors have a tiny bit of corrosion at the bottom corners but thats it.

It has just had 2 new front shock absorbers, new rear shoes and wheel cylinders, new front discs and pads, a new water pump, head gasket replaced last month, and a full service inc timing belt.

The 2 front seats were getting a bit worn out so I have replaced them with 2 black leather ones taken from a Safrane which have transformed the car and made it like driving round sitting in your favourite armchair, really comfy, and they do go quite well with the rest of the dark grey origional interior, but if you want the origional seats to repair up and refit I still have them.

Now for the bad points::( As mentioned the gearbox needs some attention! I have refitted the circlip and washer and it does drive again (I turned it round).

The power steering rack has a tiny bit of play in it, its fine normally but at speed on the motorway it causes the car to wander very slightly (ok when you get used to it) but I have a good second hand power steering rack still attached to a good front subframe you can have if you want it.

This car has done 197500 miles so dont expect a minter off a forecourt. Saying that the engine is still strong and I dont see why it wouldn't go for another 200000 if well looked after and it still returns around 53 mpg on a run which I think is fantastic considering the mileage and weight of the car. It smokes a bit when started from cold first thing in the morning and is a bit lumpy but after a minute or two that clears and she runs really smooth and clean.

There are a few slight knocks and scratches around the bodywork but nothing major other than the drivers door.

Its Taxed and MOT'd till the end of February so who knows if the diff circlip holds you might just get yourself a bargain that will run you round for a bit.

I have just lost heart with it now tbh and what with buying the astra I just aint got room or money to keep it which is a bloody shame as despite it being a bit of a beast it has done me really well and never let me down really untill now plus I will have to do welding on the astra to get it through an mot and the Renault is solid so I must be mad lol:)

Just make me an offer as its got to go cause its now sat outside my mates flat with no insurance on it.

To sum it up its a good old tank that would take you round the world and back with the gearbox replaced and if looked after.

NO SENSIBLE OFFERS REFUSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CASH OR PX WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!But I wont give it away!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.M. me your email address if you want any photos.

The car is located approximately 2 - 3 miles out of Birmingham City Centre and can be viewed any time as long as you give me some warning as its 30 miles from where I live.

Thanks for looking

Nige

p.s. forgot to mention its got a towbar if its of any relevence to you if your interested.
