If you don't find it a challenge, you're not doing the job right (IMO).
Don't get me wrong, being a parent is a fantastic, wonderful and fulfilling experience. I wouldn't change it, but at times at the start you wonder what the hell you have done to your life. I used the very rare moments snatched on the car as an escape too, also, with virtually zero money to do anything with.
It'll be both the best, and worst experience of your life over the next year! It gets better as time goes on too, as they grow and develop, as you shed the pains of sterilising, nappy changing (You will not BELIEVE how much money goes on nappies and wipes), dragging baby/travel system/change bags and all manner of stuff out to the car for every journey...as all that fades away it gets better and better. My two are 7 and 9 now and they are an absolute hoot. Water pistols, NERF guns, Water Slides at the swimming baths, soft play areas (and MILF's), cartoons (spongebob squarepants is sublime insanity), filling your mouth with squirty cream, playstation, R/C cars.... i'm a kid again.
My boy turns 8 this year, which means we can go Go-Karting
