I went to fill coolant yesterday and found the bleed bolt missing.
All hail @Adey for yet more Renault spares. Despite having loads of M6 bolts in my shit hole of a garage not one of them was the correct length, they were all too long so yet another trip over to see Adey who sorted that little issue out with the correct bolt. In return I’ve hopefully helped by given him the correct oil fitting he needs.
I also popped back to Forge for a hose bung earlier too so now I have a reasonably neat ISCV blocked off.
Fuck waiting any longer for fuel fittings and shit to turn up in the post. I’ve just realised like an idiot that I literally need to extend current fuel hoses by about half a meter and I can attempt to start car so wish me luck for tomorrow, let’s hope it goes smoothly.
Coolant is in, took 4.5 litres but I’m only running 4 coolant hoses now, two from rad and two to turbo. I’ve done away with OE header tank and heater matrix too plus the Honda rad is smaller however similar size to my alloy C1J one. Let’s hope coolant temp is ok, should be.
Just popped out to grab a few hose connectors for fuel lines and some vac hose for ECU/MAP.
I forgot I need to wire fan up real quick plus fix up my fucked starter wire.
Enjoying some eggs and a brew then I’ll crack on with it.
Was jacking car up and left it perched on top of car like a complete retard, dropped off and smashed on the floor. £50 down the pan right there and more importantly my fun and games stopped for today.
Hats off to Chris @ EFI - sorted me out with the correct calibration for the OE inlet temp sensor for 172. Yesterday it was reading at over 30c, now it’s reading at the correct ambient temperature.
Well a somewhat of an anti climatic first start. Fired up reasonably easily and sounded mega (footage doesn’t do it justice) It was running rather rich as you’d expect with 875cc injectors but my joy was short lived due to what looks like cam seal issues or dephaser itself as had a pretty large oil leak.
It’s a real shame as had good cold start pressure at over 5bar.
Arranging to drop to Marks soon for him to resolve for me. Until then I better start paying off my credit card lol
atleast it runs and runs right easy fix for some one who knows how should of gave it some throttle want to here that turbo whistle. Hope I get to see this monster at some shows this year and to put a person to a car

I’m sure I’ll be out and about terrorising the streets once it’s all sorted mate. Longer term once I’ve got a proper box and some manly drive shafts I’d like to do some quarter mile stuff but this JB3 will likely live 2 weeks after mapping lol
Hopefully seeing this gives you some incentive for yours.
Yeh mate I’d love to go to your level of things but just havnt the funds atm so I’ll be happy with a nice 230 or there about I want relatability if you can have that in a 5 looks awesome mate hats off to you
