I’ve got all the right cabling and the Innovate box which uses the other serial port is working. It’s unlikely but possible i guess that the 3746 is faulty.

@DaveL485 - you got me searching a bit further and I think I’ve found the reason. You can’t use the USB connection and serial out at the same time, its either one or the other. I’ll check my theory tomorrow, I’m certain I had both plugged in at the same time.

Had a response from Mark G from Adaptronic this morning, it turns out that I may have the incorrect null modem connector, I have the yellow but I am told I need the orange one. I've placed an order today to arrive Wednesday for an orange one, fingers crossed this solves the connectivity issues between ECU and dash.

Are you trying to interface the Dash to the ECU and the PC at the same time? As I see it, that wont work, you can set the dash up with the PC, you can connect the dash to the ECU, but the dash cant talk to the ECU and a PC at the same time.

The ECU can talk to the PC via USB and Serial out to the Dash at the same time.

Result !! I solved the Dash 2 config issue. I had to update firmware on the dash itself and then download a different more up to date software version. I just need to await the correct null modem connector which will be here tomorrow to fix the ecu issue.

Well after fucking about for hours and hours trying to sort the ECU to Dash connectivity, it transpires that Lindy who I bought the connector off sent me the wrong one, wasted hours troubleshooting as trusted what they had sent. All is not lost though as a mate just knocked the correct connector up in a few mins and hey presto I now have a fully functioning dash.

Cold start so not really revving in video.

Simply stunning.

I take it that's pretty much a solid mounted engine right there?

Yes I run vibra technic competition mounts. I haven’t tested on the road yet so worse case scenario I make the hole a bit bigger.

I can already see me moving back to a side exit at some stage, I’ll see how it goes.
