I really haven’t considered the practicalities at all Duncan
Mainly I’ve decided to act and behave like a 17yr old despite being 38. But if it’s too silly I always have the option of Matt making me a 3 inch side exit at a later date.
A few small Gordini parts arrived today from France.
Rocker cover gasket and cam bush. I need to find some cam followers so if anyone knows of any or someone with some Gordini bits hanging around please let me know.
Thanks @andybond - or if anyone can help point me in the direction of a company who can make me some followers. I guess I would need at least an original for them to copy though? I see Catcam have numerous valve train parts listed but unfortunately no cam followers.
Mark B came over last night @Adey to run through the task at hand. He reckons it’s about a days work to install dash and all of the extra sensors I’ve got. Matt is sending exhaust back for the third and final time (hopefully) tomorrow to arrive Friday.
Off to Middleton paints tomorrow then to the Forest to get the bonnet painted.
Then with any luck I’ll have a good month for running in and preparing for mapping.
They do pop up on eBay every now and then @Clarkey . New they are about £600, I paid £400 for mine but I've seen them as low as £300 a few times. Even if they don't come with the loom you can order that direct from Race Technology for £80.
Made some good progress today as well as encountering a few hurdles but what else would you expect with a GTT.
Started off trying to swap out broken fuel sender and although it came out very easily I struggled to get the replacement in which looks different but I’m assured by Michael at GT Spares that the replacement will fit, it must be me being an idiot so will try again tomorrow, I did find another black threaded plastic piece which I wasn’t using to try and refit so hoping that will solve it.
Next we cracked on with the dash and although the legal stuff is all wired in like headlights, indicators, alternator light, fogs etc etc we’ve struggled to get the ECU talking to the dash, I’ve emailed Adaptronic support as I’ve followed theirs and Race Techolgies instructions in full. Also struggling to understand the Race Tech software but I’m sure I’ll get my head around that soon enough.
The final piece was getting the Innovate SS1-4 wired in so I could see both oil pressure and fuel pressure in both Wari and in to the dash. We managed to get oil pressure all working but fuel pressure was being an arse, will need to revisit this in the week.
Here’s a few vids of exhaust with and without silencer.
